February 3, 20232 yr Its fine the way it is. If you want that SB coach then make it clear before when you do get meetings in-between.

Assistant HC takes on more roles to prepare them to move up. Duce was trying to advance and took everything he could in hopes to become the OC. Most organizations try to move people up this way but they didn’t see it in Duce. Regardless, I think it's much more important to keep Johnson around if Steichen leaves. He's also got experience as an offensive coordinator, albeit at the college level. Singleton has never been anything but a RB coach.
February 14, 20232 yr Author Quote Colts announce Shane Steichen is their new head coach Posted by Myles Simmons on February 14, 2023, 9:17 AM EST The Colts have a coach and the Eagles need a new offensive coordinator. Indianapolis has named Shane Steichen head coach, the club announced on Tuesday morning. This was the expected move after reports emerged over the weekend that the Colts had zeroed in on Steichen as a candidate. Indianapolis had interviewed over a dozen candidates for the job, including interim coach Jeff Saturday, who went 1-7 after the club fired now-Panthers coach Frank Reich during the season. Though Saturday received an endorsement from linebacker Shaq Leonard last week, team owner Jim Irsay ultimately decided to go in a different direction. Steichen spent the last two seasons as the Eagles offensive coordinator, helping develop quarterback Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia finished No. 3 in total yards and points scored in 2022. Before going to Philadelphia, Steichen had spent most of his coaching career with the Chargers. He had been the club’s quarterbacks coach from 2016-2019 before he was promoted to interim offensive coordinator in 2019. He took over that role full-time in 2020 and called plays for that season’s offensive rookie of the year, Justin Herbert. Steichen also was a college quarterback for UNLV from 2003-2006. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/02/14/colts-announce-shane-steichen-is-their-new-head-coach/

We also don’t want another situation where our QB loses both his OC and QB coach in the same offseason, like we did with Reich and DeFilippo. I’d say the fact that Johnson is already getting OC interest from other teams shows he’s well regarded in the league.

Now that Steichen is definitely leaving, we absolutely need to promote Johnson to OC. Keep some continuity with those that are most important with working with Hurts.
February 14, 20232 yr That's fine, I think we'll be fine without him. We can't stomach another season with Gannon though lol

February 14, 20232 yr I think Jalen Hurts is going to influence Shane to trade up and select Bryce Young. Leadership, character, commitment, and decision making will be huge influencing factors for Shane and Bryce is the guy for that.

February 14, 20232 yr Good!!, Way too many called QB runs, that's what OCs that don't know jack call because they have no creativity, he'll piss the bed without a running QB.

February 14, 20232 yr So….. does Siriani go back to calling the plays now? Remember when he used to call plays? And the rbs would get 3 Carrie’s a game?
February 14, 20232 yr Looks like Cards are hiring Gannon. Smacks of the Lions hiring Matt Patricia after the Pats defense blew the SB.

February 14, 20232 yr Just now, nipples said: Well, get Fangio on the phone No thanks, same scheme will produce same results when it matters most. I want someone that will fully trust our secondary and put their knees into the throats of opposing teams instead of this stupid prevent garbage with a whole quarter to go
