I think he put him on blast to make him look like a bad person for wearing a shirt from some network he doesn’t like knowing it would create a huge shitstorm and it did. If you don’t hear or see people of the opinion that Gundy was wrong and should suffer consequences for it you’re purposely putting your head in the sand.

I was pointing out that, yes, there is a "mob" of people calling for him to be fired over it. That was my answer to your question. Apparently my post also answered hunt's question being that, no, its not just a bunch of "twittiots"

He's not getting fired though (unless he keeps sucking as a coach). Just now, paco said: I was pointing out that, yes, there is a "mob" of people calling for him to be fired over it. Come on, this is going to blow over in 2 weeks and you all know it.

June 17, 20205 yr mikey miss has to fill 4 hours of sports talk each day during a period of time when there's no sports.

There is an ugly culture of people trying to get people fired over anything they either don't agree with or get canceled. For christ sake, some former strategist is trying to take down Dominos over a tweet they made 8 years ago to a girl in college thanking her for her tweet because she now works for Trump. It's madness.

Do you think there are no sports stories to talk about now? There are literally sports going on now, and there is also debates that are happening with the NBA about how they plan to reopen. And then there is the whole MLB fiasco. It's much different than late April when all they had was "Hey, you remember the Super Bowl? That was awesome" 1 minute ago, VanHammersly said: Or I'm just not on Twitter because it's a cesspool. I think you guys are way too invested in what people say on Twitter.

June 17, 20205 yr there have been stories about people posting racist crap on social media & then losing their jobs. idk about posting (non-racist) political opinions though.

His point was we should love everyone but since how dare he not stay current with twitter outrage and got fired because he didn't know that "All lives matter" could be taken as anti-BLM

June 17, 20205 yr People lose their jobs over posting a lot of things on social media. Racist stuff. Them doing drugs. Angry personal rants. It's life. If you're an adult, you have to watch what you say/do publicly. And you have to know your audience. Gundy's audience is a bunch of young black kids in high school who are choosing where to attend college. And what he did likely turned them off. The problem is technology, not people's opinions or the fact that our words/actions have consequences. Those have always been there. The access to everyone's personal thoughts is what's new.
June 17, 20205 yr Funny, all the players who personally knew him flat out said he was a racist. Weird. Do you have any examples of people who aren't suspected racists?

Grant Napear? Really? I thought I read he was a good dude but I could be wrong. Edit: wiki said he was accused of racisim. No specific examples were quoted nor referenced though. dunno.

June 17, 20205 yr 1 minute ago, paco said: What did he do that made them say that? No idea. It's not typical for several current and former NBA players to come out against someone like that. However, they have all played for the Kings so that should tell you something. Sounds like Cousins set him up knowing his character and he didn't disappoint.
June 17, 20205 yr And now we are going to limit this to people who have been fired.. like there isn’t some huge outcry against anyone who dares to lean right. This is exactly how the whole "silent majority” thing happened that helped get Trump elected. You want to shout and shame people for leaning right or holding different views (NOT racist ones) and then sit there and pretend it doesn’t happen and wonder why there are more people out there that voted for him than you would have thought. You’re not interested in having any serious discussion about it and would instead like to pretend it doesn’t happen. It is wrong when people say things like there isn’t racism and it’s wrong when people claim this doesn’t happen either. The reason the ONLY people you probably see on your social media that have extreme right views or literally are racist is because those people are ignorant and DGAF. But there are plenty of us out there that lean right and are not pigs but don’t share our views ever because we are immediately treated as evil and the term racist gets thrown around A LOT. Most people don’t want to be called that because it’s a horrible thing that we don’t want to be associated with. Drew Brees had to make 14 different apologies because he said he doesn’t believe in disrespecting the flag The only thing that was "wrong” about what he did is he was too stupid to realize that he was going to get excoriated for it and should have kept his mouth shut like the rest of us do.
