Stupid, eh?  Well, let me spell it our for you.  Democrats support public sector unions.  They support collective bargaining and the ability to unionize for police officers, among others.  Republicans do not support this and never have.  After Ferguson, Obama blamed the police and sided with the BLM movement which infuriated police officers nationwide.  Police were so disenfranchised by Obama that many of them turned to Trump as a candidate because he was outspoken in his support of first responders.  Because the union members now adamantly support Trump, and they pay the dues, the union has no choice but to switch teams and support him as well.

So it was Democrats that got us here and its going to be up to Trump to fix it.  That being said, his stance on Unions has not been very good.  It'll be interesting to see how he plays this.

How about instead of combining them we disband them altogether. No party affiliations, no PAC funds... run on your own merits and ideas.

At the very least we need a third party.  One that is fiscally conservative but socially responsible.  Doesn't have the long term liabilities to the unions, the christian right, pro or anti abortion history, etc.  Totally agree that the PACs are a major problem.

Spelling isn’t the issue, it’s your logic or lack thereof...

You really think police were voting for Dems before BLM?

The last democrat the FOP endorsed for president was Bill Clinton- 24 years ago.

Yeah, I thought police support for Republicans was well-known.  I guess not.

Well sheet I thought this was going to be something interesting like you changing your name from Bruce to Caitlyn.  Carry on.

They love Trump and hated Obama.  That's well known.  But prior to that they voted with the rest of the public sector unions.

FOP is more of a fraternal lodge than a union these days .  The big ones are International Brotherhood of Police and the International Union of Police Associations.  Both of which supported John Kerry who ran against Bush.  Prior to that they were perennial Democrat supporters.  We've already established why they moved away from Obama and now support Trump.

Sorry.  I pondered Jessica for a while but ultimately lacked the courage.

Who are they supporting this election?

"We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.”

I mean... they pay dues to be a member... sounds like a Union to me.

Does the Elks club self proclaim to "represent” employees? Serve members through legislation? Improve working conditions of its members?

No.

The FOP is considered by many to be the largest police union in the country.

Here’s a google of "what is the largest police union?”

Yep, they do some union duties too.  But they are also a social club.  What difference does it make?

Yup, I voted for Gary Johnson in the last election (even though he was an idiot).  Couldn't stand Trump or Clinton.  A strong Libertarian candidate could take this election for sure...but, sadly, they cant compete with the financial machine of either of the big two.  Gotta fix campaign finance first, then you open a door for a viable third party.

Just that you started by saying the police union was in bed with Democrats, until I posted an article showing they endorsed trump. Then you said because Obama, until I posted that the largest police union hadn’t endorsed a Democrat for 24 years. Then you said the FOP isn’t a union so I posted a new and exciting way to find information on that google search... Sounds like fact checking is something you could use some help with.

What I said was that Unions are a profitable fundraiser for democrats and they have not held them accountable, which is totally accurate.  You picked one pseudo union out of a hat and found that they haven't endorsed a Democrat since Bill Clinton.  This is only part of the story since they declined to support either presidential candidate in 2016.  In general, the majority of public sector Unions support Democrats.  Police Unions have more recently switched (some faster than others) due to the disgraceful way their members have been treated by the left.

Nice job finding the one nuance in my argument to nit pick and therefore try to invalidate all of it.  I notice you strategically stayed away from the fact that Democrats supported slavery and have destroyed our inner cities.
