In light of the recent scrutiny over statues, memorials and historical figures it dawned on me that we should also be changing the name of the Democrat political party.  Institutional racism is clearly rampant in our country and who more to blame that the democrats?  They are after all, born from the Southern Democrat party, responsible for slavery, the confederacy, the ku klux Klan and the civil war.  Every one of the statues they are demanding be torn down were in fact members of their own party.  Their beloved and longest serving senator Robert Byrd was a former member of the Klan and even filibustered the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for 14 hours.

Furthermore, Democrats have run almost every single city in the United States since the 1950s.  In a feeble strategy to keep the teachers unions at bay, they oppose school choice for intercity children.  Meanwhile, they won't hold the Police Unions accountable for chronically reinstating bad cops like Derek Chauvin, who had been disciplined multiple times before for brutal tactics.  Unions, you see, are a very profitable resource for Democrats.  Crime, corruption, homelessness, drugs and massive political debt are all commonplace in our cities, yet democrats, with overwhelming majority, still somehow blame Republicans.

If racism is systemic, and the system is rooted in politics, then who could be more more to blame for our current situation than Democrats?  They have been overwhelmingly in charge urban centers for three quarters of a century.  Its high time for a change, and symbols of systemic racism will no longer be tolerated.  I've decided that a name change is clearly in order.

Where I need your help is.....what should we change it to?

What I said was that Unions are a profitable fundraiser for democrats and they have not held them accountable, which is totally accurate.  You picked one pseudo union out of a hat and found that they haven't endorsed a Democrat since Bill Clinton.  This is only part of the story since they declined to support either presidential candidate in 2016.  In general, the majority of public sector Unions support Democrats.  Police Unions have more recently switched (some faster than others) due to the disgraceful way their members have been treated by the left.

Nice job finding the one nuance in my argument to nit pick and therefore try to invalidate all of it.  I notice you strategically stayed away from the fact that Democrats supported slavery and have destroyed our inner cities.

Wrong on so many points...

YOU were talking about police unions, which have endorsed Republicans since 1996 ( Clinton). In 2016, police unions endorsed AND donated to trump (the fundraiser). 2012 is the year they decided not to endorse either candidate, because ROMNEY took a hard stance against public sector unions. Which should be obvious why other unions don’t support republicans. The "pseudo” union I picked self claims to represent over 330,000 officers and is the largest police union in the United States.

And lol about Democrats supporting slavery... if you’re dumb enough to believe that without reading a little history on Southern Democrats vs Dixiecrats and the shift of parties in the 50’s & 60’s, you are a fool. Redlining would be another topic you obviously need to educate yourself on if you want to talk about inner cities.

Yep.  By 1948 the Democrats has started to support more civil rights legislation as a national party.  That’s why Strom Thurmond was nominated for President as the Dixiecrat candidate - essentially a breakaway party made up of Southern Dems.  Then in the 1960s Thurmond switched from Democrat to Republican.

I'm done debating the FOP....its pointless.  I will concede that they shifted to vote republican earlier than the other police unions.  Fair to say that it varies by union, but the bulk of public sector union support has clearly been for democrats.  To be clear, I hold Trump to the same standard.  He needs to curtail the police union practice of reinstating cops who have a history of heavy handed practices.  This will require some legal immunity for the unions of course that the trial lawyers (also democrats) will contest.  But it needs to happen and this is an area both sides of the isle should be able to come together on.

Dixiecrats, redlining, blah, blah, blah.  The fact is that the Democrat Party was born out of the South and  have been largely in charge of the inner cities since the 50s.  No one is more to blame for their demise than they are.  Biden, Pelosi and Schumer have over a century combined in federal politics and things in our black communities have only gotten worse on their watch.  For them to accuse the country of systemic racism and take no accountability for it is criminal.  I'm not saying that republicans have been anywhere near good enough on this issue....but they sure as hell shouldn't be the scapegoat just to score cheap political points.

Baby Killers?

Sean Payton should sell $1 per punch in his face and donate the money to the victims and their families.
