Sirianni, BG and biggest surprise Reddick have all not even made to be finalists. Doubt he does, but I hope Hurts doesn't win league MVP. I'm hoping this will motivate the team even more.

2 more wins baby!! LFG!!

FLY EAGLES FLY!!

This team should have plenty of motivation to ball out. Show the world... win it allllllllllllllllll

I’m a big Sirianni guy but I don’t think he should have been a finalist over Pederson, Daboll, or Shannahan. Pederson and Daboll both took over teams that were a trainwreck, and brought them to the playoffs in year one. Shannahan ended the season on a 10 game win streak, with 6 of those games being with his third string 7th round rookie at QB.

I think Doug should get it. After the sideshow that team was last year with the Urban Meyer experiment, getting them to the playoffs in his first season is pretty amazing.

That's from the NFL website.  I just looked at the ESPN website and it only shows Pederson, Shanahan, and Daboll so someone is wrong.  I'd guess the NFL site is correct but who knows.

edit: CBS site also shows five finalists including Sirianni

I saw someone post that the 5 were nominees and the 3 are the finalists. Don't know 🤷‍♂️

Strange, I've gone to a bunch of sites and it looks 50/50 as whether the finalist number is 3 or 5.  ESPN has 3, NFL 5, NBC 3, CBS 5, etc.

Yep.  Those award winners rarely win Super Bowls.

Do they all have their own and we're just looking at the wrong places?

No.  One theory is that they just picked up the data from NFL website and it is wrong.  LeanandMean just posted an AP Tweet in the blog and it had the shorter list of 3 so I'm going with that theory.  The NFL webpage is not right.

Here is the article from the AP, the folks who run the awards voting.

You'd think the NFL would get it right on their site.

Are you basing that on their long history of getting things right ??

Yes that's correct. But finalists = top 3. 5 are usually nominated.

I'm pretty sure Sirianni will be using that to motivate the team. We've been slighted all treat and people just can't seem to accept that this team is really damn good.

Not winning MVP didn’t exactly help the Sixers in the playoffs with Embiid.

And Harper winning the MVP 2 years ago didn’t exactly slow him down in the playoffs this year.

They are going to win or lose on their own.  The awards won’t help or hurt.

Nick did the same thing last year. Took a train wreck to the playoffs and was no where near COTY.  What could have he done better to win the award this year? #1 in the conference, best record in the league. Pederson and Daboll shouldn’t even be top 5. Pederson doesn’t win any other division except maybe the NFC South. Daboll didn’t even have the 2nd best team in his division. It’s a joke of an award.

I don’t understand how people can argue Shanahan because of Purdy when Purdy was nominated over Olave for ROTY with only playing 6 games. People say Sirianni had a great roster. Same should apply to Shanahan then.

Either way, no big deal. These awards don’t mean anything.

I think people don't realize that other teams have deserving players as well. I have a limited amount of free time and I'm not going to spend it watching every single game of every single team.

I’m fine with it. I’d rather they win the awards that matter in the nfc championship and Super Bowl.
