Treat Kelce as a WR. Press man on WRs. Contain Pacheco don't let him slip by on the outside. Gotta blitz Mahomes and get his timing off.

1) Hit Mahomes;

2) Repeat.

Simply you've got to get to Mahomes and you've got to get to him often. And if you can force them in to 3rd and long situations you can really look to get after him.

unleash reddick.

Gannon has simply got to go for it. None of this playing safe. Do what we do best.

Introduce new designer blitzes that were stashed away. Blitz up the middle to collapse the pocket. Move Reddick all over the line so they can not block him consistently. Put a spy on Mahomes. DBs Play man and challenge every Receiver within the first 5 yards, disrupting the timing. Move our LB, so that they can tip or intercept the ball. Secondary has to be opportunistic and try to intercept. Hopefully our offense shows up early and we are ahead, this way KC will become one dimensional and try to pass. And for God sakes everyone Tackles. I want to see 2-3 guys tackling a person who  got the ball. I am not saying players should take steroids, but they have to play as if they did.

Someone tell epps not to get hurdled.

Stop them from scoring as much as we score.

Crazy enough to work

Bracket Kelce in coverage and send the house at Mahomes. I want to see him running for his life like he was when Tampa beat them in the Super Bowl a couple years ago.

I think the offense clicking to get at least a TD lead early is huge. We all know Andy likes to get pass happy anytime he falls behind. Use that as an opportunity to tee off on the pass rush.

I’m not blitzing Mahomes that much. He can pick the blitz apart. Our D-Line is so dominant that they can get home with 4. So I’m only sending the occasional blitz unless the front 4 aren’t getting there. Move Reddick all over to make it harder to double him.

I also expect Kelce/Pacheo to chip/release a lot so be prepared for that.

Bracket Kelce and tight man coverage on the other receivers.

I’d make a hell of a coach

It’s all about how you deal with Mahomes to Kelce.  The rest of KC’s offense is ordinary.  If we can at least take away Kelce as a reliable security blanket — keep him to, say, 6 or 7 catches for 60 to 70 yards — without significantly knee-capping the defense’s ability to deal with everyone else, the game is won.  I’ll leave it to people more knowledgeable than me to game plan it from there.

I agree with this… jamb/disrupt their WR’s with 2 safeties over the top, our corners are better than them.

Bracket Kelce.

Controlled pass rush/blitz. Mahomes ability to extend plays and create in scramble drill situations is what makes him great. Can’t give him lanes to escape the pocket, he keeps his eyes downfield while moving around and through pressure. Have to squeeze him in the pocket until everyone gets there. Even with a bad ankle.

Stand around and watch Mahomes entertain the rest of the football world/fans. Because it's what the league will want anyway.

Beat the living sheeeeet out of them- just like they did everyone else. Bring the PAIN.

Eliminate their run game, play ball control to keep the ball out of Mahomes hands. Rush with four and keep Mahomesin the pocket. Either use Bradbury or Slay on Kelce or double him all game. Get some turnovers and make them count. You can’t stop the Chiefs. We can only hope to contain them and ultimately have more scoring drives than them.

Was it last year the Chargers beat them by playing cover 3, forcing the Chiefs into checkdowns and Mahomes struggled with turnovers? This is what Gannon loves to do on defense so it's likely they go this route and hope the front 4 can get after Mahomes who won't be super mobile back there.

I think they let Slay and Bradberry lock up their man and have CJGJ on Kelce (with underneath linebacker help).

Hit mahomes as much as possible, keep him from leaving the pocket and hold them to field goals. the middle of the field will be where they most likely will attack them. if they can keep them in third a long they should be fine.
