8 Million is nothing. Whoever said that he burned some bridges is probably right. Or teams were telling him he needed to prove himself without 2 all-pro corners next to him and a DL that had crazy sacks. Seems weird but whatev. Swole batman needs to get on the phone with Byard and do some recruiting.

Krap!!!  Wanted him back.

You can tell a loser when you see one- he left a winner to go to a loser.....for $$$$$$.

I find it hard to believe that Howie wasn't offering $8M. I could be wrong obviously, but this feels to me like CJ overplayed his hand and overvalued himself, so the Eagles moved on. CJGJ basically then took the one year deal in Detroit once the Eagles were out, and instead extended Slay and signed Greedy. That's my read on it anyway.

You could be right

The problem with a one-year prove-it deal from the team side is you cannot play any games to move the cap hit back ... all $8M of that deal would hit the cap this year.  That may simply not have worked with the need to sign Hurts.

F!! So, we now need at least 2 Safeties??!!

No Safeties, no LB’s. I’m sure the new DC is happy. ☹️

Blankenship and Greedy at Safety. Reddick and Dean at LB.

It's also March. More free agents, the draft aren't done yet.

AJ Brown was a draft day trade, Bradberry was signed in May, CJG was traded for in August.

Let's see what the roster looks like in August.

We will have a starting caliber safety before start of the year. I'm not concerned. Howie is a beast.

Reddick is an edge rusher…almost led the league in sacks and should have been considered for DPOY in case you missed it.

He isn’t replacing Edwards or White.

Unless our staff wants to be dumber than AZ was when he was drafted.

Yep, common sense.

Not true - can add void years to spread the cap out a bit. Bradberry had a $7.25m contract last year with only $2.3m cap hit last year and 5.0m in dead money this year

He's a LB that plays on the outside as a pass rush specialist. So what. They replace White with Dean so there's only 1 LB spot to replace (Edwards).

His agents are buffoons. When free agency began, some teams still viewed him (in their defenses) as a slot CB. Not everybody was sold on him as a safety. Even the Eagles shifted him to the slot in certain packages while Maddox was out. I don't feel his injury was a big concern because that was kind of a fluke thing. But his tackling was a little below par for a pure safety. His playmaking skills were top-notch and he had some big hits.

His agents should have taken the best offer on day 1 while teams had tons of cap space. To play the waiting game with a player many teams questioned (where to play him) was idiotic. To then argue about the end result on social media shows how unprofessional and clueless that agency is. I hope he enjoys detroit.

I expect Dean to take over for Edwards at MLB. He could play either spot, but that's where I see him going. Perhaps Taylor can compete for that starting Will spot. Bradley and Elliss will also push for 1 of the openings. It would be nice for Taylor to live up to his draft status.
