Quote

Philadelphia had been known for playing a zone scheme under then-defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. One would think that continues regardless of who the Eagles hire as the next defensive coordinator. Devon Witherspoon is a fiery competitor with the instincts to play in zone coverage and the traits to play man as well.

Philadelphia would probably look to trade back in this scenario, but it takes two to tango; would anyone be interested in moving up for someone still on the board? With Miles Sanders scheduled to hit free agency, the Eagles add someone to that room.

CB and DE should be the focus but yeah I mean you've you to go BPA. I love the Witherspoon pick, I think that kid is going to be really damn good.

That would be a great draft and I‘d love it.

Don’t you think Gibbs is pretty similar to Gainwell from a skill perspective?

I rather use our 2nd or 3rd round pick on a different type of RB.

As in shifty, pass catching? It‘s what most teams want I guess.

It‘s not easy to find that elite bruiser but if he exists you may be right I’d go for it too. The Eagles though? I doubt that.

That said I think Gibbs is very underrated. If it wasn‘t for Robinson he would get all the hype. But there seems to be room for one first round RB only, so Gibbs will go second - if that. Gibbs is almost like a receiver which does increase his value quite a bit (see McCaffery).

In the end you want good players to start for you. Even with the Sanders treatment (4 cheap years and goodbye) he‘d make up for a late second easily.

BigEd - Please don't take this personally but I'm  not a fan of commercially posted mocks. Seeing your thoughts and the thoughts of the other denizens of this forum is much more interesting.

Hey UK  - why do you think DE is a priority. Regardless of FA we'll still have Reddick and Sweat. Derek Barnett and Janarius Robinson are still under contract and BG still might be back.

I'd say DT is a much greater need - We jjust can't afford Hargrave and even if Fletch cmoes back he's getting worse every year.

DE is a need because I'm not sure BG is going to be back. Barnett shouldn't be back (though I guess will be and he's an option). Robinson... I mean I don't have a lot of faith there. So really right now we have Sweat and Reddick back. The rest are either potentially not back or are just not very good.

I only did because nobody else was posting anything.

As of now I'm focused on Witherspoon at #10 and who knows what at #30 ... could go EDGE, S, OG, Bijan if he's still there...no idea

No way birds don’t go Nolan at 30 if he’s there.

Witherspoon and Nolan are the picks there IMO
