I'd give up my soul to all-powerful Satan for an eternity of fiery torture in exchange for ten minutes with this divine quadrumvirate. Oh for want of a time machine and a pint of chloroform. Ten minutes? What are you going to do for the other nine minutes thirty seconds?

If she would have explained a little further... at the turn of the 19th century in that part of Europe, blue paint was a novelty because the pigment was rare at the time so it was considered a bit of a luxury and even a status symbol to have blue furniture. In many homes without proper plumbing/sewage one would have to keep their chamber pot in a cupboard... but never the nice blue one.

If I may briefly interject... most posters in this thread are thoroughly committed to intellectual dishonesty and oneups[person]ship, so you've come to the wrong forum for answers. Although it's probably better than where you seem to get your "theories" . Having said that, you can mine something useful from some of the more reasonable responses, which is that the virus having a natural origin AND leaking from a lab are not logically disjoint (aka they're not mutually exclusive).
February 28, 20232 yr Maybe they were having a lunch of bat on a stick, and pangolin puffs in the lab?

February 28, 20232 yr Super long thread from a virologist on the possibilities for what the DoE report might've been based on. Curiously, it might not've been the team at WIV after all, but rather the Chinese CDC team. Though the virologist thinks the DoE conclusion is wrong as it doesn't adequately explain the phylogenetic discrepancies observed from early samples which seem to point towards at least two independent spillover events in a particular stall at the Huanan Market.
February 28, 20232 yr I posted this before, but reposting it for context on the two lineages aspect: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abp8715
February 28, 20232 yr Who had "DoE Report Concluding Lab Leak Origin Inadvertently Exonerates Fauci and Torpedoes All the Gain-of-Function Theories In One Fell Swoop" on their 2023 bingo card?
March 1, 20232 yr Whether it came from an accidental lab leak or originated from the market, the Chinese government is equally culpable either way in my view. In either scenario, they obfuscated, lied, and stonewalled investigative efforts repeatedly. In either scenario, the pandemic was a result of their negligent behavior to implement and/or enforce restrictions on conditions which are prone to high risk of an infectious disease outbreak. Regardless of what you believe, we should all be in agreement that China's response was reprehensible and put the entire world at risk purely due to their self-serving behavior.
March 1, 20232 yr Have they confirmed the viral sample in the lab came from a bat? Or is a pangolin still on the table?
