If I was a watch guy or person who wore jewelry I would get a nicer one. But for what I use it for the Ticwatch is pretty good. Workouts, hikes, and if I'm vacationing or visiting a new city, because having the GPS on the watch face is game changing when in a new place(I have a terrible sense of direction).

I get that. I'm not really a watch guy either, but I got that tic watch to see if I liked having one on and it grew on me. When my tic watch stopped charging dependably I found myself missing having one on. I think the big seller for me is that it keeps my off my phone. Getting a text before sometimes lead to clicking on a random notification, then checking my email, following a link from there and then 5 minutes later trying to figure out how I got onto Facebook

Yeah I get it. I find myself leaving my phone in the car (or in my desk when I was working at the chemical plant) for a few hours here and there helped me be more productive. You can't really wear watches around the type of equipment I worked with but if you could I probably would have used it then also.

Ok....... who got a samsung 21 ultra? Or a new note ?...... Mrs 17 and I are both ready for new phones....... reading reviews on both and not sold on either.

I have an I phone X for work and a s9 personal phone.... she has a pixel 2 ? 3 ? and hates it ... whatever it is.

After more than 5 years of having 2 types of phones..... I would still get a samsung for my personal one.

Apple does not impress me at all and I run my work day off of it more than a computer..... I find navigation between the different things I use it for to be a pain.

I have the newest note. Whatever version it is... I've lost track.

Are refuribished phones from Amazon any good?

I prefer new. But; the one I'm looking for, Samsung S21 Ultra 256GB+, is in short supply.

Just reserved a fold 4.

Theyre being announced and then available to pre-order on the 10th. But reserving now gets you access to extra deals at pre-order time.

Do we know anything about it yet? I get bombarded with emails to preorder a phone I've never seen....

not really other than leaks. Official Samsung Unpacked event is on the 10th.

But it costs nothing to reserve. It supposedly just helps them fine tune logistics when they see how much interest there is. And gets you an extra 100 dollars in samsung credit that I think you can put towards your order. You also have access to colors that wont be available to other buyers. You can get that in addition to any pre-order deals if you decide to pre-order when the time comes.

I may not actually buy the phone (if its going to cost 2000 dollars, or even 1700 again like the 3 did). But you really have nothing to lose reserving it, and 100 bucks to gain.

From leaks it looks very much like the 3 did. Not sure if the S Pen will be housed inside yet like the Note does. Not sure if there are any camera improvements (which I think lag behind the Note cameras). I guess theyve made improvements to the hinge again, and a little better water/dust proofing. The rest is either very much staying the same, or theyve been effectively tight lipped this time. We will find out at the event on the 10th.

So wait, can you just reserve it, not buy it and get $100 on Samsung credit?

Nevermind. I apparently just accidentally reserved mine too

Tomorrow is the unpacked event at, I believe 9am.

Interested to find out prices on the new flip, and fold. As well as camera specs.

Need to decide on going with one of those devices, or getting the S22 instead.

I will.  I have the note 20 ultra 5g right now so whatever I switch to is gonna have to be good.

Holy F, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 STARTS at $1800? Yeah… no. I’ve been tempted to switch back over from iPhone because the Fold interests me but I’m not paying that price in addition to giving up the conveniences of my iPhone.

I could get a new MacBook Pro for $2000, I’m sure as hell not spending $1800 on a damn phone. Smartphone prices are getting out of control.

Thatll depend on what kind of trade in value they offer, and how much money off they are offering.

They just finished the flip presentation. I dont think there are any real earth shattering specs in performance or camera. It seems to be all about improving hinge, water resistance, and battery life on this model. And the novelty of having a flip phone again. Which does kind of create new ways of using the camera that may come in handy from time to time. Im still considering that. But Im really interested to see the Fold presented.

If you think these are expensive (I agree), just wait till apple figures out how to make a foldable phone.

Flip starts at 999.

Honestly don’t think a foldable iPhone would be any more expensive than this, maybe slightly cheaper. Apple has a reputation for high prices but does that really even hold true anymore compared to Samsung? S22 retails at $799, iPhone 13 $799. S22+ is $999, iPhone Pro is $999. S22 Ultra $1199, iPhone Pro Max $1099.

Apple seems to be raising prices a little more slowly than Samsung recently. I’m guessing it has to do with all the money they’re making on subscription services now (iCloud+, Apple TV+, Apple Music, etc), they can take slightly less profit on hardware sales to keep the subscriptions flowing in.

That’s more like it on price, but definitely don’t love the form factor nearly as much as the Fold.

Getting the fold for 23/month

854 total after all the deals.

Seeing about adding the watch but the site keeps getting finicky and saying cart is empty.
