I dont even see bixby on my fold 4. When I swipe all the way left now, I get a google news page instead of the stupid bixby news.

I never used bixby voice assistant because it sucked, and you could use google voice assistant instead, which is better than anything including siri.

But glad they dont force the entire bixby page on you anymore either.

Mine now shows up with something called 'Samsung Free' that I accidentally keep swiping onto. Never used it and close it before it opens normally

Mine went from that to the Google page. Since I never use either, I can't say if it was after an update or when I got my new phone.

Eh, I’m not a photographer. Or videographer for that matter.  I snap a few casual photos and vids during holidays or when my toddler is doing something cute. Frankly, the iPhone XR camera was even sufficient for me. I can’t get excited when improved camera features are the "big” selling point.

Trying to sell me on eSim being a big deal, but the only time I deal with a SIM card to begin with is putting it in the phone when I first get it. I’d argue that eSim is even less convenient than a physical card, because it means if my phone is broken I can’t just pop the sim out quick and put it in another phone. I’d have to go down to Verizon and get another one to put in a different phone.

All-in-all this was just underwhelming. I was already on the fence about getting the iPhone 14 or jumping to Android in the spring, and his new phone certainly didn’t do anything to sway me further to Apple’s side.

I just used esim to switch carriers. Easy peasy. I want nothing to do with going in the store it's all done online. I had the option for a physical sim which again tehyw would have just over nighted to me to put in my phone. I have the pixel 5 and have been getting the pixel since the 2nd one. So I'm sticking with them.

how does esim work with getting a new phone? do you have to call in and have them switch it? i know with my physical sim i just slap in and im good to go.

They just send a signal to your phone and it just downloads all your info. It's basically like having a sim already in it. So yeah I'd imagine you just call and they send the signal or you can do it via chat which is how I did it. I kept my old phone and took the physical sim out and then selected the esim.

I haven’t switched carriers in over a decade so not really an issue for me.

But yeah, I’m 75% sure I’m going Android next upgrade which will be in the spring. So it’ll be between the S23 which should be out by then and the Pixel 7.

You scan a qcode and it connects.

I didn’t even do that. When I started the phone the first time it allowed me to automatically link it to my cell number.

Well it’s not a flagship, but was just issued a Galaxy A53 for work. It’s the most recent Android Ive used since the Galaxy S8.

Performance is on the slower side, but I mean it’s mid-range hardware. I am liking the updates to Android since I last used the OS though.

And Jesus, the display is way, wayyyy better than I’d expect for a phone in this price range. AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz. To my eye, it looks noticeably better than my iPhone 13 display.

Wish they didn’t cheap out and had issued me an S22 instead but this at least will get me back into using Android. I’ll be upgrading my personal phone in the spring, so using this should at least help me decide whether to go for another iPhone or to switch over to an S23 (assuming thats what the next one is called)

I ordered the 7 Pro, got 340 credit on my 6 Pro, and 200 dollars credit on next order. Basically I can get their new Pixel Buds for free.

I'm contemplating doing the same. It's such a good deal. I have the 5 but, my trade in value was 400? That doesn't sound right if you only got 340 for the 6 pro

I'm trying to decide between the 7 pro or just the 7. I'm not a huge picture taker so I don't think I need all that and not sure I want that big of a screen that comes on the pro. It's only 250 after the trade in for the 7. Either way it's an incredible deal for a brand new phone.

Yeah they both are good phones and I'm just a fan of the operating system. I gave Apple a legit try and I really think Android is just more efficient.
