Poor Miles... at least he had the chance to play in at least 1 superbowl in his career.

I don't feel sorry for Boobie.  He's going to a coach who he had a good relationship and is on his second contract.

My thoughts exactly.  Had he taken a deal similar to BG ($6M) it might have been more well received overall.

It still might be....could be incentives pushing deal value up. Never know with numbers that are reported first without full details of contract

Yes!!!

Per Adam Schefter Big Fletch Cox coming back on a 10 million 1 year contract.

Don't want to be negative but that sounds like a lot for him at this point.

Not sorry to see Sanders go, am sorry to see Fletch stay @ that price.

Agree to an extent. I do like Sanders, but I just think RBs are never (or rarely) worth paying on a second contract. Keep a strong OLine and you’ll be just fine with backs like Gainwell, Scott, and Penny (for the 8 games he plays). Add a mid-round draft pick and RB is set.

Just walked in the door after a good night at the bar 🙂 ... don't get the 10 mil per for Cox ... another 5 mil per and you could have CJGJ .... this move doesn't do much for me. I mean what are we expecting here for 10 mil??? 2 or 3 sacks and a whole bunch of half game walk offs?

You don't get 10 million for a DT after losing Hargrave, but are perfectly fine with paying CJGJ 15 million per? 🤔

I don't have the slightest idea if this is real but...

It was expected that the Eagles would release cornerback Darius Slay on Wednesday. They didn’t.

Now comes news from Josina Anderson of CBS Sports that Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman is working to find a way to keep Slay.

My question is, assuming the team cuts a deal to retain Slay, does that mean CJ is gone?

No doubt in my mind.

Howie is a magician.

But he's not a miracle worker.

it’s been said a slay restructure saves the eagles 12 million in cap space…

i’ve also seen articles that say lane jonhson could restructure again saving money and an an article saying about both Aj brown and Reddick have options in their contracts within the first 3 days of the league year to save the eagles a fair amount of money also

Keeping or cutting whatever happens, his contract can’t stay where it is. Shocked they brought back Cox though.

Here's the rub with the Slay situation - Eagles held all the cards all along.  Slay was under contract, and the team was never under an obligation to release him.  The Eagles brass played all of us big time by announcing he would be released, but boy did they burn the Ravens asses by never following through.  Now, if the team can't retain CJ, it's less of a PR problem.  Brilliantly played.

They also killed his trade value announcing they were going to release him.  No team was gonna trade for him at that point.  Howie playing 12D chess

Slay stays an Eagle. Go figure. 🤣

Cox clearly has more of an impact on our defense than fans are able to comprehend and perhaps with our new DC an even higher impact. Idk but what I do know is at this point of Howies career, there are no more favors and there’s no more mr nice guy re-signings, I guess all i can say is that the team anticipates Fletcher playing a significant role this season - I can totally see him being this years BG in terms of exceeding expectations LOL you all know we’re using yet another high pick on DE/DT too..I’ve been spoiled by 70 sacks and I don’t know how much less I’m willing to settle for….Jordan Davis is the next up big man, but has already been hampered with injuries. Hargrave is gone , and the jury is still out on Milton. I think he’ll be a mighty fine player , but at this point we don’t know what he has to offer, in what capacity or the motor on him …Now throw in injuries…idgaf if it’s 2 mil or 10 mil, if they fit the mould of what we’re trying to do those numbers are irrelevant. I have yet to witness a team in true cap hell and our GM is next level weasel when it comes to manipulating this crap. Howie is the Belichick of GMs

Don't love $10m for Cox but one less starter on defense to worry about. I still hope they draft a DT though.

I'm still ticked about Sanders. Really expected him to be the new Westbrook/McCoy for us

I guess they had to keep Cox since Jordan cant stay healthy and we dont have any one else.

I really hope Jdavis takes a big step this year but im not hopeful. This might have been another big first round miss by Howie.

I suspect Kenneth Gainwell will take on that role.  Do you take a shot, especially if you can get him for the minimum on Eckezel Elliot?
