March 17, 20232 yr Here's a name that completely dropped off the radar - Isaac Seumalo. Is there a chance he comes back?

Teams are treating him as a nickel Corner because he only has one year as a Safety. Sucks for him, but it certainly gives us a better chance of getting him back. Maybe a one year prove it deal.

March 17, 20232 yr I like Seumalo but I agree that he is expendable. With Kelce coming back, we could have Jurgens at RG next to him for one year. In the meantime, we draft a G in the late first. Then in 2024, we have Jurgens at C and new guy at RG.

The fact that he is unsigned - and there are plenty of teams who need help at guard - makes me think his price is really high.

My guess is he wants $15 million a year and his actual value is closer to $10 million, and until he realizes it, he won't be signed. He is a good player, but not a gamechanger. Our defense wasn't appreciably worse when he was injured. So my guess is that the Eagles feel like he is replaceable if he doesn't come down on his price.

Jordan Poyer's contract was a killer for CJGJ .... it's like 7 or 8 per year Cap Hit. I like CJ better than Poyer, but they are pretty close in the grand scheme.
March 17, 20232 yr I don't like the Mariota signing. He was bad last year in Atlanta and cannot throw the ball well at all. He quit on the Falcons last year after they benched him. Immature. Just don't think he is a good fit as a back-up QB. And I don't think he fits the offensive scheme well. He can run, but he can't throw for crap. Not sure who else was available, but I'm sure they could have found a better signing. And Minshew wasn't a bad back-up. They didn't need to sign a back-up that can run the exact same offense as Hurts.
March 17, 20232 yr It’s been a rough offseason, but exchanging Minshew/Sanders for Mariota/Penny isn’t a downgrade. These 3 years of picks (2022/23/24) need to hit.

I think our defense was a lot worse when he went down. Up to that point we (and him) were getting INTs like rarely before. After we never truly got back into that groove, even when he returned. I think he did make a big difference. Doesn‘t mean I‘d resign him at all costs. But he does deserve some Respect.

I'd argue both are probably downgrades. Mariota is for sure a downgrade compared to Minshew. Penny might be a better overall player than Sanders, but has had a really hard time staying healthy. Sanders has at least been healthy for the most part.

Minshew has fun social media, but as a football QB, what has he actually done here? I think he played poor when he finally had his big shot. 31 minutes ago, Devaster said: Penny might be a better overall player than Sanders, but has had a really hard time staying healthy. If we had resigned him -even if we had the money- we most likely would have regretted it. I don‘t expect him to be a straight up replacement for Sanders though, more like decent depth so we are not forced to draft a RB if chips don‘t fall that way.

Minshew was awful last year, I thought he'd be fine starting in a pinch, but when it came to it even with a top 3 O line and receiver pairing he looked like a deer in the headlights with happy feet and the clock in his head always running a couple of seconds fast. Mariota is no drop off from that,
