With no other teams meeting his asking price, maybe he’ll lower his expectations. I don’t think any of the moves made thus far take us out of the game like some seem to think.

I couldn’t imagine paying Seumalo to be a backup. Those guys are usually players on cheap rookie contracts. I fully agree with starting Jurgens. The experience learning while playing between both Kelce and Johnson would be invaluable.

He is a good player, but not a gamechanger. Our defense wasn't appreciably worse when he was injured. So my guess is that the Eagles feel like he is replaceable if he doesn't come down on his price. Well, he was a game changer in the super bowl when he fell for the reversed motion on more than one big play. Unfortunately, he changed it for the worse.
March 18, 20232 yr Not loving the Mariota signing. I think we can do better. And maybe we will draft a guy to compete with him, who knows but he’s not a great passer.

March 18, 20232 yr Titans look to be cutting S Kevin Byard in a cap saving move ... Byard is an excellent vet who could likely be had for between 4-6 mill. He's 29, but will turn 30 right before the start of the season. I'd rather have CJGJ with his youth and upside, but if we can't land him, I'd love to have a guy like Byard.

Still have nightmares of Blaine Bishop after he was cut by the Titans
March 18, 20232 yr Author When he realizes he isn’t going to receive an offer that comes close to meeting his expectations, sign CJGJ to an incentive laden 1 year deal and add another safety via the draft on day 2. The short term deal gives us another year to get a more thorough evaluation of him before deciding to commit to him longer term and for bigger $ (plus also gives us a chance to see how much Blankenship improves from year 1 to year 2 and if he would make a solid starter).

The longer he sits, the better his chances are of returning unless Howie decides to go in a different direction. Howie’s showing he can be patient and so far many of the players are literally taking less to stay.

CGJ is kind of overrated. His main talent seems to be swagger and he can't tackle.

Right now the Eagles roster is without both starting LBs from last season as well as both starting safeties. Howie brought in Kyzir White at the end of March last year, and CGJ much later than that. He will find suitable replacements
