Well so far no team has reached a deal with CJGJ ... he'll come to realize his expectations will not be met and have to settle for something a bit less. So maybe all hope isn't dead yet.
March 17, 20233 yr One year deal? I would prefer it to be a 2 year deal. Greedy is one of those low cost/risk, high potential type of guys. Maybe I am already having CJGJ trauma 😅
March 17, 20233 yr I had to do a double take. I thought he said Gizmo Williams. Could this be Howie's Smoke-Screen to tell teams he isn't going to pick a CB or is Howie getting ready to trade up to 5 and nab Jalen Carter. DT.

March 17, 20233 yr I quite like it. He’s a talented player with real upside. Sure he’s not been great in Cleveland but maybe a chance will do him good. Maybe they move him up Safety?

Howie's usual is to sign free agents even if just 1 year deals on a mid level guy, so there aren't any glaring holes on the roster going into the draft. He likes the flexibility so that if the first guy on the draft board is gone they can move to the next and not feel like they lost out as much. It's really a classic BPA (within reason at positions you really don't need). Last year he drafted 3 guys who weren't going to start. Davis and Dean are now going to presumably be starters, Jurgens may end up starting RG or continue to backup Kelce and replace when he retires. I could see Howie taking a LT to groom behind Lane, a DT to groom behind Cox, a DE to groom behind BG, a Corner to groom behind Slay. Lots of options.
March 17, 20232 yr A good signing. Low-risk high-reward for a guy on a prove-it deal looking to reignite his career.

Don’t know enough about the player, but I hope he has some versatility considering Blankenship and Maddox both got hurt last year. Heck even if CJGJ comes back he also spent time out with injury so there’s a chance this guy needs to play in a lot of different positions. That’s assuming he even makes the team, because a lot of these low risk guys don’t pan out.

But I’m sure he could in certain match ups where maybe they are worried about Maddox. Or maybe they like Greedy in the slot and move Maddox to Safety?

Even with the return of so many veterans, there are still a bunch of questions with this defense. We are just going to have to wait and see. Personally I still want CJGJ back and possibly Mills too.

Bringing back CJGJ and then Mills would be a nice combo actually!

I think it’ll be either or not both… Either CJGJ comes back on a lower deal…even a one year deal…or we’ll sign another safety like Mills, Amos etc to pair with Blankenship and a rookie.

There’s a reason why the Eagles we’re able to get him for basically nothing. Perhaps the Eagles can pull something out of him. We shall see.

I believe that CJGJ wouldn’t mind it, but clearly isn’t happy with his current offer. We also know that Howie really likes guys named Jalen. 😂
March 19, 20232 yr Mills as a cheap depth piece in the secondary would be fantastic. He could fill in at outside corner in a pinch and play S if Blankenship falls flat on his face.
