Eagles' Alshon Jeffery among the NFL's top WR's in the Red Zone since 2017

 

The talk of the 2020 NFL offseason has centered around the Philadelphia Eagles needing to move on from Alshon Jeffery despite the numbers suggesting otherwise.

Jeffery battled injuries for the bulk of the 2019 NFL season and his absence played a huge part in the Eagles struggling to move the ball on passing downs and most importantly in the red zone.

Pro Football Focus recently graded out the best wide receivers in the red zone and the Eagles’ biggest weapon was number two in the NFL since the Birds 2017 Super Bowl season.

Jeffery is among the most targeted wideouts in the league in any situation per PFF and that’s a major why the Eagles have balked at moving on from the former South Carolina star despite his huge salary cap hit and an injured foot.

Jeffery is likely to start out the season on the PUP list, but stats like this one are the main reason the Eagles expect the wide receiver to play a huge role in the offseason this season.
