Our new WLB Nick looks far better in coverage than any LB we have had in a long time. He has footwork in his zone drops. He is fast and as fluid for a linebacker I have ever seen in an Eagles uniform. Cap me all you want. His back pedal is as fluid as most safety’s. He recognizes inside routes and drives to the ball. He has incredible acceleration driving to the football. He has way better coverage skills than Kyzir White ever had.

He’s extremely smart and that’s obvious when it comes through in his press conferences. I’m talking about not just his Eagles press conference but his Bears conferences as well. This kid is extremely impressive. He may be a better sub package player but I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins a full time job. The was he deciphers information is impressive. I’m encouraged by this signing.

Greedy Williams - one of my favorite CBS coming out of college from LSU. I told you the Eagles would have significant interest. He is a great zone corner that is great at attacking the ball in the air. He has excellent length and very good recovery speed. He isn’t extremely physical but he definitely tackles better than Darius Slay. I know that may not seem like much lol 😂. Learning from two of the best playmaking CBS in this decade will be instrumental to his developmental. I feel very good about our cornerback group as a whole.

Marcus Mariota - People say he had a terrible year just didn’t watch the falcons play. He had absolutely nothing to throw to. Drake London and that’s it. Kyle Pitts wasn’t apart of the offense. Yet he made the Falcons competitive. He never had an offensive line or a collection of weapons/scheme that benefits his play. He still is a top 32 QB. He’s better than Baker, Sam Howell, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett, and he was better than Desmond Ridder, with the talent he has he could be a top 23 QB.  I think this was a excellent signing.

Rashad Penny to me was a bad signing. He can’t be projected as the starting back. He is never healthy. He can’t be relied on the be our top back. It’s too big of a "What If”. I know he’s talented , i know he is a physical presence. He could be our best pick up. He could also be cut before the season starts. Hopefully Howie Roseman attacks the RB position again in the draft. I know it’s low risk high reward but history is not on his side.

Justin Evans - when he was in college he was amazing. He was a top talent that flashed all over for A&M . He went to the Bucs and he started a solid rookie year. After that injuries plagued his career. Achilles , turf toe, ankle issues stole his promise. He moved on to the Saints and played in the slot and SS. To be honest I don’t remember his name being called against us in week 17. However if he has the same explosiveness he’s definitely a strong possibility to start and restart his career. If he lost his explosiveness he may not even make the 53. I root for him but I don’t put a huge amount of faith into him. Another low risk high reward type player.

Hopefully we can add some interior DTs that are also low risk/ High rewards and maybe some decent depth players along at OT. So when we head into the draft we can just get BPA

I like the LB, he's made more splash plays in his career than kyzir and he's bigger as well, kyzir was about 215 and this new guy is 225 and  on tape he's popped some dudes, definitely not shy about sticking his nose in there and blasting a guy, could be a candidate for the green dot depending on how Dean develops

Greedy is as soft as tissue paper, he's fast and long but the dude is soft and made of glass I'm not expecting much from him, we'll see.

As for Mariota like his skill set but he's a quitter, he got benched and quit on his team, not a fan after that

Penny is a stud when healthy,he's a top 5 back in the league problem is he's never healthy, maybe change of scenery will change his luck, if so he's gonna give defenses headaches.

Justin Evans after all the injuries is a shell of himself, too bad he could have been really good, not expecting much from him but would be great if he showed out.

As for BPA it's very possible that come pick 10 BPA will be Bijan Robinson 🤷‍♂️

Morrow is a good replacement for White. Similar playing style and similar level of play. Some people really hyped up White when he signed but he was just ok which is all Morrow needs to be.

Greedy is there to compete with and possibly push Zech for the third outside corner spot. They might even draft a corner on day one or two which would push both even further down the depth chart. I wanted Greedy when he was in the draft but to be honest my expectations for him after a few years with the Browns are pretty low.

Mariota is the perfect backup for Hurts. He is as good or better than Minshew and a similar enough QB to Hurts that if he misses they at least won't have to significantly change the offense.

As more time has gone on the more I have come to appreciate the Penny signing. You could potentially be getting a top 5-10 runner in the league for around 1-2 million. I know I know, he's never healthy. If he even stays relatively healthy though and is used properly in a backfield rotation with Gainwell, Scott, and either Sermon or a rookie he could really add something new to the offense and lighten the load on Hurts running in short yardage situations.

Evans, like Greedy I have little expectations for. If he beats out Wallace for the 4th safety spot, cool. If he doesn't, oh well.

ZERO chance they take Robinson at 10. It will be a DL or OL.

Morrow also seems to be a pretty good hitter, I saw him laying the wood in a few videos I watched.

That's a trait the Eagles rarely seem to go after, maybe Howie afraid that he'll piss a hitter off and they'll lay the wood on him..

From the little film I say on Williams, he seems to have a hard time finding the ball when he has to turn and locate it, if he'd just pay attention to the WR's head and eyes he'd know where the ball is in flight,

I agree with you on Penny, he's never impressed me, I couldn't believe the Seahawks spent a #1 on him.

Evans, another hitter.

I hope we never have to see Mariota play, unless it's garbage time because we're so far ahead of our opponent

1. Greedy Williams.  There was a reason (a) he was available and (b) came so cheap.  Unfortunately we're going to find out this season.  Just because he was a baller in college doesn't mean he'll be any good in the NFL.

2. Apparently you were one of the people that didn't watch Mariota play.  He was god awful.  Wildly inaccurate.  No way you're making these statements if you actually sat through a Falcons game.

3.  Rashad Penny is the guy you don't like?!?  This guy, who does get injured, is a beast when healthy and will split carries with Gainwell and Boston.  The contract they signed him to makes him a rounding error on the Eagles cap.  I can't believe you have a problem with this signing.  I think it's likely the Eagles draft a RB, but I sure hope they wait until the 3rd to do so...unless someone slides to them in the 2nd....or that 30th spot.  That's a sweet landing spot for someone to fall back into. You get that 5th year option....

I need more information about Marcus. When they 13 games had as many TDs as Daniel Jones level play. He had a rookie WR and a 6th rounnd rookie RB and a bunch of UDFA WRs he was throwing too. He had the Falcons playing well in the beginning and they veered off around midway through the season. The Falcons played ball control because they haf absolutley no talent or speed for his weapons The damn offensive playcalling never utilized Kyle Pitts at all. They play calling was exactly like what the Titans do. Yet they never had the type of back to run the offense they were running once Patterson got injured..

If he had our weapons and line I’ll say it again he would have taken us to the playoffs too. I don’t get the hate you have for him. He had some had some bad moments that got highlighted. You’re just looking at the play where he fell and made a bad decision . Stop with the 🧢
Youwant to love the guy who is never on the active roster because he’s always injured? He’s way worse than what Miles Sanders was with injuries in his first 3 years. Penny got a 1 million dollar deal for a reason. Stop watching just the highlights and start watching the full picture.  You can’t trust a guy like that.  Greedy Williams started a lot and they had Ward and the Newsome who both are elite level players on the outside. He can’t play inside and he got injured so the Browns drafted Newsome , you can never have enough talent at corner. I never said he would be a star. You got your opinions and we can agree to disagree we will find out what happens during the year and find out who’s right and who’s wrong.

Mariota? Really?

Sam Bradford 2.0?

Yup that about sums it up.

I'm surprised he hasn't restructured Lane yet this year...

The whole thing is Meh. All of it. Kept a bunch of old players, and didn't grab anyone who is above average. Hopefully, a couple spot on picks in the draft. This team lost a LOT of talent, but we knew that was coming. Nail the draft. Plus, 2nd year players are going to have to really bump up their games.

Give him some time. It feels like it’s bound to happen.

I like the LB.

The rest are ok. Nothing stands out as a player who will be a major contributor to the Team. Maybe we’ll be surprised.

I've seen Mariota play in Oregon.  My brother in law thought he and Chip Kelly were going to reinvent to NFL.

I've been watching him play ever since.  I now know you have not seen him play this past season.  He was....lost.  He was inaccurate.  The play where he fell and made a bad decision, I don't even recall that play.  There was so many bad passes...just utterly bad play on Mariota.  Maybe it's the system, but after watching Tannehill completely light up what we all thought was a talentless Tennessee team?  Mariota made Tannehill look like Peyton Manning!  I am pretty sure you either love Oregon Ducks football, or you have never seen anything past his hype video?  His ceiling is low.

Now I never compared Penny to Sanders.  This is a cash money decision.  We both know Eagles could not afford to give Sanders what he wanted.  For a fraction of what Sanders should have, and was paid, this team has a pretty good RB.  Let's not compare him to a guy making $8M a season, let's compare him to all the $1M RBs out there.  Now tell me how you feel about him?  Yes, I admit he gets injured, but what if he's not the lead back?  What if he only gets the ball 10-12 times a game?  That cuts his injury percentage in half.

Now have you seen him play this last season?  With Geno at QB?  He looked pretty freaking good.  For $1M, like I said, he's a rounding error.  Who did you want to get for that kind of money?  I just want to know who you think the Eagles should have signed at TWICE his number.  I'll wait here.

I'm willing to bet a fair amount that Greedy = Sydney Jones.

So you’re saying he’s trash. Got it. This isn’t going to keep happening. Keep disrespecting me when countless people in here have known and respected my takes and opinions. I’m not going to force this crap and keep going back and forth man. Agree to disagree and we will find out this year. I’ve always watched him. He’s never been a top 25 QB because of the lack of weapons and the lack of coaching. When he hurt his shoulder his first couple years he was broken. He finally went to Oakland and showed life being a backup to Carr. Which is why he was awarded a job in Atlanta. Not once did I say he was special. Not once did I say he would be a starter again. However he can be a top 23 QB with our offensive scheme and the weapons we have. He’s better than Baker, Sam Howell, Ridder, Zach Wilson,  Russel Wilson. You’re trying attacking my character bro.  Like i said I’m not doing this childish attacking nonsense. We will see what happens. But i guarantee you my takes are going to be the one who was right.   Book mark this and then we will see who eats crow.

Childish crap going on…

Rashaad Penny has dealt with injuries, but he was stuck behind a Pete Carroll personal favorite in Chris Carson. Penny has averaged 5.7 yards per carry with 337 carries. He didn’t get a real opportunity until Carson went down in 2021 where Penny rushed for 706 yards in the final 6 games of the season. Then he started decent last season with 346 yards in five games, averaging 6.1 yards per carry sharing time with Kenneth Walker. Then went down with a broken leg… not soft tissue that would fall under injury prone… a broken leg is not an injury prone type of injury.

For $1 million? That’s about as low risk as you can get with the ceiling he might bring.

Why was he behind Carson? It was because he showed to stay healthy. I get the talent. But RBs and health never a good mix. It’s been every single year. It’s not like it’s just been a week or two every once in a while. It’s like 8-10 a year. Give me KG and Scott, I know they will be there when they are called upon. He’s the Tua of RBs. Why do you think the Seahawks wouldn’t even match the offer we gave him? It’s not like it’s once in a blue moon it’s every single year. God knows I want what is best for our team. He’s just like Justin Evans so talented but it’s wasted because you can’t count on him to be in the lineup. I love how he runs. I love his physical presence. But what’s the point of the talent if he’s not there to help you in the playoffs? We need reliable players. Look at Kelce he is always injured but he NEVER takes a game off. He’s had separated elbows , Lane Johnson had a torn abdomen and still played. Mailata player with a torn shoulder. This guy gets dinged and is out for the rest of the year.

Jalen played through a torn rotator cuff. That’s what I want! Warriors ! Who will play through injury

To be blunt, they all have some combination of bad, injury prone, or little upside.

Penny is good, has some upside, but is exceptionally injury prone.

Greedy is bad, has some upside, and is injury prone.

Morrow is bad, lacks upside, but durable.

They didn’t have money to spend and did the best they could off the scrap heap.

He was behind Carson because Carson was a notable Pete Carroll favorite. It wasn’t because Penny couldn’t get yards. Penny averaged 4.9 in ‘18 and 5.7 in ‘19. Carson averaged 4.7 in ‘18 and 4.4 in ‘19. It wasn’t fumbles, Penny had one in those two years while Carson had 9. Penny tore his ACL in December 2019 which he wasn’t fully recovered from until well into 2020. Then, as i previously posted, he got his first real opportunity in 2021.

Kelce, Lane Johnson, Mailata… none of them are playing through an ACL tear or a broken leg. Sorry, your comparing apples to oranges.

Hurts? Hurts didn’t have a torn rotator cuff, he had a fractured clavicle. Did he show some grit playing through it? Absolutely!

He physically would not have been able to throw a football with a torn rotator cuff.

We had the "best roster" in the league last year and still lost to a 7th round RB, a bunch of rookie dbs and Kadarius Toney.

So i dunno, i dont really care much to nitpick our roster anymore. In todays game you just need a Mahomes or Hurts, a great coach, and decent, replaceable players everywhere else.
