  1. A starting safety - likely a free agent. Amos, Rapp, Johnson, Edmunds
  2. Defensive tackle - Davis/Cox start, need one to pair with Williams in the rotation
  3. Starting linebacker - free agency has been picked over
  4. Guard/center
  5. Running back
  6. Safety
  7. 4th wide reciever - probably going to ber a free agent
  8. Tackle/Guard

The Eagles have 4 1st and 2nd day picks in the draft - the 4 I would target are DT and safety in the 1st, linebacker inthe 2nd, and IOL in the 3rd. My hope is for a trade down (or two) and gathering more 2nd day picks.

DE is one of the biggest needs and may be our first pick.  A good young corner is a must.  We need a starting RG a back up developmental late round OG as Opeta isn't any good

and we need a swing OT in the 4th or 5th to develop and maybe another OT mid to late.  We only have 6 NFL Olinemen on the roster presently. We need one WR for sure and maybe 2.

A punter too.  I would love to see us add 7-9 players in this draft but as of now we only have 4 picks that have a chance to contribute next year.  We need more picks

Until the past couple years the Eagles have sucked as drafters because they went for needs instead of the best player available.  I've always liked the stacked SEC position approach where those teams buried freshman on the depth chart unless they shined so brightly they couldn't sit them.  They Eagles got fancy with the trade down recently when they were targeting a need.  They traded down and took Milton Williams who never had a chance to start in the NFL because he is forever playing short armed and stuck on blocks and that was easy to see at the college level when they instead should have taken DT Alim McNeill who was easily the best player on the board.  So here was a situation where a team got caught targeting a positional need instead of just taking the best player available which is so interesting because he played the same position.  Take the player and not the position.

Unfortunately, now we need DT’s, LB’s and S’s up the middle of the defense.  A bunch of them.  And an elite edge rusher to pair with Reddick.

Thanks for the 411

I can't see Howie staying at #10 in the draft..... With 2 1st round picks, I think he will be wheeling and dealing and be able to pick up an additional 2-3 picks but i don't think he completely trades out of the 1st round.

I think he goes "best player available" with the first pick, wherever that falls.

And this is the time in free agency where he signs 2-3 guys to those 1 year deals.

He's opened up some cap room with the extension to Johnson.  OvertheCap says they have 13 mil in cap space and that was before Johnson's extension.  I think it stands at 22 mil now,  but I'm not sure.  But it could be Howie maneuvering to make a trade on draft day.

I don't think the eagles consider RB, G, or LB big priorities right now.  I think the biggest priorities are:

1) DT/DE

2) Safety

3) WR

4) OL
