I’d be completely surprised after signing Penny even if that was a minimal deal.  I think the better approach to the position is to add a RB in the draft and also get a better look at Sermon.  Gainwell/Scott/Penny/Sermon/draft pick should be a pretty darn good RB room.

C'mon man, I'm not entirely convinced signing him is a good idea (although I'm not as against it as some) but nobody in football is passing up even 2022 model Zeke to get a 'better look' at Trey Sermon

To round out the DC?  Sermon would be fine as a 5 in a year where were have extreme cap limitations (and he'd with the potential to move up if he outplays any of those above him).  I think we'll end up with draft pick and Gainwell as the top 2.

I’m not in the least confused about what he is. I’m not trying to tell you I expect him to be an all down 20+ a game carry back nor or anything. With that being the case the guy was very effective last year on short yardage plays. He was also effective in the red zone by scoring 12 touchdowns. Him getting the ball in short yardage would mean less sneaks/hits for Jalen. If we could get a diminished Elliott at a bargain price then what does it hurt? If he stinks he gets cut. We aren’t talking about Chip giving Murray a bad contract while completely using the player incorrectly here. Like I wrote before I’d do it for the right price. Right now on this roster the only person I trust to get a short yardage score or first down is our soon to be 40-50million dollar quarterback. Something has to give.

I hear you. But I simply hate the guy, he is too used up, and I never want to see that Cowboy in an Eagles uniform- EVER.

I’d rather the Eagles draft Bijan at 10… and 10 is too high for a RB.

Somebody stop these players!

Only way I would be remotely ok with it would be if he came for vet minimum, but he never would so count me out

Don't see ANY need to bring in Elliot.

With Penny, Gainwell, Scott and Sermon, there is simply no need.

Penny may be an injury risk, but he's not going to be overworked with the backfield the eagles have.  And the whole RB room is a small cap hit at this point.  I see anything that Elliot brings to the table as something the eagles need.

This almost makes me wish we re-signed CJGJ instead of Slay.

Eagles denied talking to Elliot.

Cowgirls run their backs into the ground quickly. Zeke is all used up like Murray was years back when we made the mistake of signing him. I don't even know why they even do second contracts on backs there as they are mostly finished after 3 to 4 years of heavy use. If the eagles sign him they better have a time machine to roll him back 4 or 5 years when he was pretty much an automatic first down on 3rd and 3 or 4.

Of course he wants to come and play for the Eagles. We are a good team and he gets the opportunity to stick it to the Cowboys so it is win win really.

I would very much enjoy the angst that he'd potentially cause them, if he was wearing Midnight/Kelly Green. But I wouldn't want Howie to pay anything more than the minimum allowed.

I respect that stance. 😂

That was more of a dig by Slay than any sign of Slay wanting him here. 😂

I guess I'm the only one who would like this and thinks he's still a good back. Hell, he always seems to play great against us.

So does Dak, but that doesn’t mean he’s good.

Must only be a returning to the Ohio area reference, because there’s no shot he’s getting that number in Philly.

No

My how things have changed since 2016-17. There was a time we were debating would we rather have Dak and Zeke or Carson Wentz. Now the answer is a resounding none of them. 😂🤣😂

Agreed. He’d have some impressive runs and then he folds. It‘s what they learn in Dallas.

Plus, he looks like a retarded Ewok.

Okay that is funny. 😂🤣😂

Eagles don't need help with short yardage. Don't see any value in bringing in Zeke. He would an expensive option for a one-trick pony of short yardage. He doesn't bring anything else to the table.

The Eagles need help in taking pressure off Jalen Hurts. Everyone talks about all of the time his carries go over 20 a game, well the tush push and the red zone touchdowns add to those numbers. Overall even if it isn’t Zeke (frankly I don’t think he’s more than a spot back anyways at this point) the Eagles really need to invest in a real #1 back. Someone who has a nose for the end zone and can be a 20 plus carry guy, and most importantly take some of these hits off Jalen Hurts. The Eagles can only go as far as their quarterback takes them and the more he gets hit, the more likely he gets injured.

Has he had any interest from anyone? Have the Eagles even spoken to him (that we know of)?

Cincy has come out and basically said they weren’t interested. Jets running backs kind of scoffed at the idea on Twitter. A couple Eagles players made note to it, but it doesn’t seem he is getting a lot of interest from any team right now.
