August 16, 20232 yr Newly unsealed court transcripts reveal special counsel Jack Smith gained access to a number of the former president’s communications on Twitter, including his direct messages, searches, and draft tweets—the fruit of a previously sealed search warrant signed by a federal judge in January. Prosecutors asked for "all content, records and other information” related to Trump’s account from Oct. 2020 to Jan. 2021, including location data, details on interactions between Trump and other users, and "all tweets created, drafted, favorited/liked,” retweeted or deleted. The transcripts also show that the judge—who granted Smith’s office permission to shield the search warrant from Trump over concerns he would sabotage it—reprimanded Twitter’s lawyers about the company’s "extraordinary” requests to be allowed to give Trump a heads-up before turning over the records. "Is it because the new CEO wants to cozy up with the former president?” she asked at one point, in reference to Elon Musk. The existence of the search warrant was first reported last week. On Monday, a furious Trump took to Truth Social to blast Smith for "breaking into my Twitter account without informing me and, indeed, trying to completely hide this atrocity from me.” ____________________ Please, please, please, oh please let us see the drafts of tweets. They have to be comedy gold.
September 19, 20232 yr Please do not gag Trump. He is doing such a great job in both incriminating himself, and ruining every defense he mounts with his own mouth. Amazing to watch, like a starving predator eating its own flesh.
December 6, 20231 yr Trump loses his Civil and Criminal Immunity Appeals. Great day for America and Justice.

October 3, 20241 yr Judge Chutkan released a 165-page filing from special counsel in the case against Trump. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/02/jack-smith-trump-court-filing-election-00182235 Quote When the defendant lost the 2020 presidential election, he resorted to crimes to try to stay in office. With private co-conspirators, the defendant launched a series of increasingly desperate plans to overturn the legitimate election results in seven states that he had lost—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin (the "targeted states”). His efforts included lying to state officials in order to induce them to ignore true vote counts; manufacturing fraudulent electoral votes in the targeted states; attempting to enlist Vice President Michael R. Pence, in his role as President of the Senate, to obstruct Congress’s certification of the election by using the defendant’s fraudulent electoral votes; and when all else had failed, on January 6, 2021, directing an angry crowd of supporters to the United States Capitol to obstruct the congressional certification.

January 14Jan 14 The rule should be changed. A President who commits a crime as President should be criminally charged and if convicted sent to prison.
January 14Jan 14 Love how Maga laughs that Trump is escaping Justice. I guess they believe he did nothing wrong or the Rule of Law doesn't matter.

It goes against Rule of Law. But I understand there are complexities to prosecuting the sitting President: DOJ reports to POTUS, who is the one they will be prosecuting. How does a sitting President get an impartial trial? Jack Smith admits there is no precedent for this situation; the seriousness of the crimes committed by a President and current President-elect.
