Josh Downs (North Carolina WR) -- DRAFTED BY INDIANAPOLIS #79

One area on offense the Eagles can improve is a slot presence at WR.  Smith and Brown occasionally take snaps there, but most often it's Quez Watkins, who regressed somewhat in 2022.  Downs is more agile and elusive than Watkins IMO and has decent enough speed at 4.48, plus lots of short-area quickness and route running.

Wouldn't take him really early, but he'd be a good option if still on the board at #94:

I'd be down for that late day 2 early day 3 but I doubt he lasts that long. Does he return kicks/punts?

Has returned punts for two seasons but not kicks.  I think KR is the easier to train, though.

He’s a pure slot receiver. He knows how to sit in zones, accelerate through breaks, and if you don’t jam him, it’s easy separation all day.

do you draft a pure slot guy on day 2? Idk….

Since we have skinny batman i feel like we need a bigger slot. one that can stretch the field with 50-50s and block on those RPOs we like to do so much. STs contribution would be a plus. They're not gonna see a ton of targets but can be relied on if they need to play on the outside for a bit.
