We are doomed. Hurts is being paid a fortune.

I get it: It's expensive, but Hurts have been great with Eagles. It's better than taking a chance on a lesser QB.

Do you even understand the contract? Or are you just seeing 255?

I’m not sure you’ve seen the actual numbers then.

It’s the "hidden cap helll” that I’m sure will catch up to us somewhere around the year 2155.

He's being paid like a top QB in the league.  Burrow, Mahomes, etc. the top QBs get huge contracts this is nothing new.

Howie structured it in a way that gives them flexibility plus they already have everyone on offense under contract the next 2 years, and on defense the core players mostly signed for 2-3 years as well.

Just looking at the stark difference between the Daniel Jones contract and Jalen’s should get people feeling much better about the Eagles ant their future.

This man is putting on a clinic. If he hits on these draft picks just wow.

"But how will they build the roster now? They lost all their defense and they won't have any weapons around Jalen!"

I'm not saying that the 2025 number is so vaguely calculated as to be pointless, but according to Spotrac $89million dollars would put us in the bottom 6 in terms of cap space,  Spotrac currently reckons the Bears will have 19 players signed and $377million dollars of cap space in free agency 2025, that's $377million dollars of cap space on a salary cap estimated at $245million.

I was a big supporter of Howie until, ironically, he inexplicably drafted Hurts.  A team that seemed to have many other pressing needs and he drafted a QB after signing Wentz to a big contract.  It was then I wondered WTF is he doing.

But he's proven that he has a plan that goes 2-3 years into the future and it's sometimes hard to see when it comes to personnel and salary cap issues.

At this point, the salary cap is more a myth.

This but it also helps having young star players whose contracts you can manipulate to give you whatever cap flexibility you need, without fear of short term ramifications.
