It's virtually guaranteed that Howie will trade at least once, if not 2-3 times during the first round if circumstances fall in their favor.  Everyone likes to say Howie is a magician...so here's my predictions for some Howie magic...

Pick 10: Carter, Anderson and Paris Johnson are all off the board.  Seattle takes Carter at 5.  Anthony Richardson is still on the board here so Howie is fielding some phone calls and a small bidding war starts.  Seattle...who has a ton of picks and thought about taking Richardson at 5, wins the bid and sends the Eagles picks 20, 33 and 123.

Pick 15: The Jets just gave up some picks for Aaron Rodgers and want to replenish a little bit.  Howie decides to give Eagles fans a thrill after initially disappointing everyone by trading down to 20.  Howie gives up picks 20 and 62 to leap-frog Washington (just in case) to take...

RB Bijan Robinson!  The logic here is that, quite simply, Robinson is one of the best players in this draft.  He would impact both the run and passing game.  It's just incredible to think what our offense could become with this addition.  Position value be damned...if Robinson is elite for 5 years, it's worth it.  Our Super Bowl window is now and the next couple years.

Pick 30: Trade! Howie benefits again with QB Hendon Hooker still on the board.  The Titans lost earlier in the bid for Richardson, but the Eagles oblige here.  Eagles get picks 41 and 72.

Pick 33: DL Adetomiwa Adebawore - Word is Howie "loves" this guy.  Another Brandon Graham type but a little bigger and with a little more athleticism.

Pick 41: CB Julius Brents - Future starter, injury insurance.

Pick 72: WR Marvin Mims - Instant slot WR upgrade and brings juice as a PR.  Upgrades 2 spots.

Pick 94: Trade! Howie makes a deal with the Pats and gets picks 107 and 117.

Pick 107: OT Nick Saldiveri - Athletic OT who has the traits for Stoutland to develop.

Pick 117: Edge Nick Herbig - Good developmental prospect with athleticism.

Pick 123: DT Jaquelin Roy - More depth on the DL, intriguing upside.

Pick 219: S Jason Taylor II

Pick 248: LB Charlie Thomas

Book it! :smoke:

Some interesting trades here, this reminds me a little bit of the 2021 trade down then back up for Devonta Smith to leap frog the Giants, but instead we jump ahead of the Commanders.

I like the overall haul, but I feel that if the team were to invest an early pick on a DB it's probably going to be safety instead of CB? Although I do like Julius Brents as a prospect, I feel like a safety is in the mix somewhere on Day 2.

Could this be the year the Eagles take a RB in the first round? I'll believe it when I see it, I guess 😀

I was just trying to be creative with the trades while also using some form of logic for teams' reasonings to trade :-).  I'm sure Bijan is a pipe dream, though.  I think it would be a great move to land him after a trade back, but I also understand the philosophy of keeping the trenches elite.

I left Safety out until Round 7 because they just don't draft well at that position with early picks and actually do better trading for players.  If the Eagles go DB on Day 2, it'll be a CB.  Only exception would be if they go for Brian Branch around pick 30...who is more like a CB/S hybrid like CJGJ.

Thanks pal, good read.

I was slightly off in Round 1

Although I will say that as the draft was unfolding and Carter was still there, I knew he'd be the pick (just like everyone else knew).  Same with Smith at 30.  Just never thought either of those guys would have been available at those spots (I didn't think we'd draft Smith at 10 if Carter wasn't there).

i like howie sayings they didn’t want to get to cute at 30… i think they had a couple guys in the same range but Nolen was the best of the bunch and rather then trade back and likely have to "settle” for one of the other guys they said screw it he is the guy we want just draft him and see how things work out from
