Thanks, I feel better about this pick. I saw one grade as an F. I don't think so. He may be better suited as a Guard to start out.

This pick has Stoutland written all over it. Couldn't care less what the outsiders say.

Agree 100%. Stoutland U will make this kid the best player he can be at Guard or Tackle.

There’s a video of him in the weight room.  He’s struggling to throw around the same weight Kelce made look easy.  He’s small for a guard.  And you don’t want a small guard next to a small center.  If he was that good he would have been playing guard last year.

He arguably was the best lineman on Alabamas team. Now do you play him at the position he’s best in or the position that is the most important? Right, so he played LT and was… alright. And then Stout with his Alabama connections wants him.

I think we found our RG of the future.

Agreed Steen is the RG of the future.  I was talking about Cam Jurgens who people wanted to move to guard so he can play instead of being on the bench behind Kelce.

I do think Jurgens does start at RG. Steen has more experience playing DLine than OG ... so I think it will take some time to get him comfortable there. In the end I do see him potentially taking over that position in 2024 as Cam will move back to Center once Kelce likely retires in 2024. Stoutland will eventually have him ready RG, but having a rookie ready to start at new position he's never played off the jump may be asking a bit much.

He will be the RG of the future after Jurgens does his 1 year secondment there.

Steen can be a pro-bowler at RG and serviceable at RT.

He's not the heir apparent to Lane at RT, the Eagles will want an elite replacement for Lane.

My guess is that the coaches are hoping that he wins the RG spot this year very much in the same way that Dickerson took over the LG spot his rookie year.

As a guard this kid has the body to be a real mauler. I think he will need someone on both sides protecting him in the league so IMO he’s way better suited to play guard. He can bounce outside in a pinch, but I think his future is inside.

Agreed. Still good to have a guard that can move like a tackle, even if he has shorter arms. Fits our line well.
