April 29, 20232 yr Solid pick. Can make a solid argument for him being the 2nd best safety in this class after Brian Branch from Alabama. Probably starts for us as a rookie?
April 29, 20232 yr Unlike Branch (who played slot Corner and is "projected" at Safety once he reaches the pros), Sydney Brown actually played the Safety position and played it very well. Can play both the run and the pass, but at 5'10" he gets dinged a little down to the early 3rd. I'm perfectly cool with the pick and fully expect him to be a starter before long. Glad we added a legit option early at a position of need.

April 29, 20232 yr Probably a day 1 starter. I don't like any safety on the roster besides Blankenship so good pick. Howie crushing this draft.

April 29, 20232 yr Like the athleticism hope he can reign it in dude had 31 missed tackles in his career.😳 If he can clean that up he's got a lot of tools to work with.

April 29, 20232 yr I see him as a top 3 safety in this class. I have been saying it for months. Dude is a stud and should be an immediate special teams contributor and may be our starter at some point this season. Love this pick
April 29, 20232 yr I would have been happy with Branch at #30. But with Smith available... There was no realistic way that we could have both. If Brown was the Best Available Safety once it was our pick then I'm good with that.
April 29, 20232 yr I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many people gush over Howie’s first four picks in a draft before.

Sometimes I wonder if after that sheet show of a 2020 season and the Reagor debacle that Lurie gave Howie another kick in the ass and told him to get his sheet together. Howie has taken it to another level since that BS too.

Since that moment you mentioned it’s been Bama and Georgia.

That was an embarrassing season, so that's why I think Howie got an ultimatum after that season.

Hell Howie even said it after the Nolan Smith pick " he didn't want to try to get cute with that pick" so he definitely has evolved and learning from his mistakes every year.

It all still needs to payoff on the field but I do think Howie is doing much better as a drafter now than he was in the past. He still has a first name Jalen obsession though. 😂
