How many of us didn't criticize the Hurts pick after it happened? None of us expected it and it didn't appear to make a lot of sense at the time. But circumstances have changed all but the most stubborn critical opinions of that pick.

I was surprised, but I didn’t criticize. Read my comments. I said he is a sharp passer. 🙂 it’s good to be right. lol

You know things are Great!!! When we are debating competition at a 3rd QB on TATE . Lol.

I have a hard time seeing him making the team but if he does then that would show me the Eagles think there might be something here. Just glad the Carson Strong fan bus hasn’t up for this kid. 😂

Did someone mention Carson Strong?

I am excited to see some clipboard competition.

Who holds the clipboard best? Mariota? Book? McKee?

Wentz is available...  Where is Carson Strong these days? (I think Strong kicked Sirianni's dog or something)

Glad to see a new addition to the QB Factory.

Next off the production line is Mariota at the end of this year or midyear with an injury int the league somewhere.

What numbers will Mariota and McKee wear? When will I be able to buy their jerseys? Book is #19.

I'll expect to see her in a jersey at some point.

So right now she's wearing nothing?

I can't see our receivers catching those passes.

Carson Strong is better than this Stanford guy...

Great. Now Hurts will be looking over his shoulder

Didn't Howie want Stetson Bennett... that would have been hilarious.

I don't think Hurts is worried.

He just got paid!!!

But...lookout...

T McKee #12

The next coming of Tom Brady.

Guessing the Eagles have some inside information from the QB camp coach who thinks this guy could be good.  Definitely has a late round TB-like profile.  A flier.

Tanner McKee Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com

Graded out by NFL analyst as 5.80 = Average backup or special teamer

Weaknesses
  • TD-INT ratio of 3:3 over his final seven games.
  • Clunky feet in play-action and on rollouts.
  • Struggles with consistent ball placement on all three levels.
  • Process becomes too rushed with pressure mounting.
  • Aims his short throws at times.
  • Missing athleticism to work successfully off-schedule.
  • Poor mobility can put him in distress.

Worst pick of their draft.

Looks like a poor man’s Nick Foles. You can’t teach "arm talent” but maybe they can prop him up enough to eventually be worth a 4th round pick one day. If they could flip Feely for a 2nd anything is possible.

You can't teach height.  Let this kid be the third string QB for a couple of years, and who know what how he can develop.

Yeah he’s tall. Has a bit of a Nick Foles vibe. We will see how he turns out. For now I’m not expecting that much.

But, but, but.. Linebacker!

(just trying to be traditional)

they should have traded down to pick #199 in the sixth round to take him...and then.....

(I'm sure you guys get the reference!)

It is a long time before the season begins, and Howie said he will continue to improve a team. That has been his modo. I strongly feel that these apparent holes that we have now might be filled before the season begins

Exactly, it's a shot.  The other part of the equation is how he fits in the quarterback room.  Maybe the team likes having the Stanford guy as its third stringer behind the scenes.

Howie needs to get on the horn to Carolina.

Carolina drafted QB Bryce Young at Number 1 overall in this year's draft.

They picked QB Matt Corral in 3rd round of last year's draft.

Corral did not play last year due to preseason foot injury.

Trade whoever/whatever for Corral. Mariota? McKee? A handful of nickels?

One difference between Hurts and Rodgers is, Hurts will help this kid to improve his game, where Rodgers wouldn't even give this kid the time of day.

Maybe he'll be the guy nobody recognizes when the news report how members of the Eagles volunteered their time.

Trade for a guy coming off a Lisfranc, who was QB4 in a generationally weak QB class and hasn't played a competitive down in the NFL?

Matt Corral Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com

NFL analyst Graded him Last Year as 6.40 = Will become good starter within 2 years

Weaknesses
  • Slender frame with size falling below desired NFL mark.
  • Too haphazard as a runner to sustain durability.
  • Scouts question whether he has necessary maturity.
  • Benefits from heavy play-action and RPO looks.
  • Needs to prove he can become a full-field reader.
  • Babies and aims the short throw.
  • Deep ball needs to come out earlier for speedy NFL targets.
  • Will take unnecessary chances against lingering safety help.
  • Most of his interceptions were layups for the defender.
  • Poise and placement take a hit once his feet are moving.
  • Takes too long to leave pocket and seek refuge under duress.
