April 30, 20232 yr Its hard to say but I'd rather have 50 and a bunch of pressures that lead to turnovers due to fear of that rush.
April 30, 20232 yr Reddick gets to 20? I see Sweat getting to at least ten provided he stays healthy, but I don’t really see double digits anywhere else. 56
May 1, 20232 yr More interested in how many sacks we can get in the SB. All those sacks and when it really counted, couldn't do ish.

Desai is said to scheme similarly to Gannon. And the quality of the secondary does impact sack totals, although I don't know what percentage of last years sacks were considered coverage sacks. I'm going with regression to the mean and 56 sacks.

I think it’s asking a lot for the 30th pick in the draft to supplant starters like Reddick, Sweat, or even a backup like Graham. He also didn’t put up big sack numbers in college though he did get injured last year. He has all the tools though. The team also has Derek Barnett out there too.
May 1, 20232 yr I think people are face planting on all analysis of Georgia defense individual bulk stats. Its not what that D was. They overwhelmed you with waves of guys. 17 guys got in on sacks in 2021 18 guys last year. Michael Sam's 17 career SEC sacks would probably lead all of their totals and he would not get on the field there before the 3rd unit. They annihilated people in the first 20-30 minutes and went deep in the rotation. Nobody was asked to be Warren Sapp or Nick Bosa and just play 70 snaps a game and get 15 sacks after 13 games. They went 29-1 the last 2 seasons and they averaged 10.2 and 14.3 points per game allowed.
May 1, 20232 yr The second highest team last year was 55. There were only 4 teams above 50. In 2021, there were no teams above 50. Call me Debbie Downer, and while I still think we finish top 5, I think the number is in the 50-55 range. I don't think Reddick gets to 16 again or BG getting to double digits or the kids replacing Hargrave's sack total. And we may have some injuries along the way which puts some numbers down. But as a baseline, I'd expect something like: Reddick (12), Sweat (12), Graham (6), Cox (5), Williams (4), Carter + Davis + Smith (8), Others (5) which would get us to ~52
