DJ currently has a 3rd rd grade on Trotter

Yeah I saw a low 2nd round or a high 3rd round grade on Trott Jr. I would think if he's there in the 3rd, I'd go and get him, if possible.

It will be interesting to see what we do at lb… I would definitely be interested in drafting him… trade down with one of those seconds and see what we can pick up in return.

I saw one site list his comparison as Dean which I don’t think is as bad as most do.

6’0 228 and runs a 4.6 40 but only a 4.40 shuttle

"But he all-pro has NFL genes!”

So did Casey Matthews

TJ Edwards was 6' 0"  230 lbs, and at his pro day ran a 4.87 forty.

I knew Trot would be a popular prospect due to the family name, but just wondering how his game compares overall to other prospects like Michigan's Junior Colson or Ohio State's Tommy Eichenberg.

Yeah - from what I’ve read Trotter has real bust potential given his issues with tackling/shedding blocks.

Could be an interesting flyer at end of the third.

He's not his dad. Overall, just too small, weak, and slow to be the game changer that the Eagles need at LB'er.

Derrick Brooks was 6ft nothing, weighed 235 and ran a 4.71

Zach Thomas was 5ft 11, weighed 237 and ran a 4.85

This board is absolutely sure that it knows the size that certain positions should be.

'Devonta Smith is too slight to play WR in the NFL'

He sounds like another Nakoba Dean tbh

Dean was a prolific college player. Trotter not so much…

And TJ Edwards was a UDFA. No one is saying Trotter can’t be a good player but I don’t think he gets drafted in the 2nd or 3rd. At least not with his numbers.

What numbers? Projected ones?

Height, weight, combine numbers.

Height and weight are normal for today's off ball LBs. He skipped most of the combine --- we'll have to wait for his pro day numbers

I’d figure TrotJr might be in play with our late 3rd, but is he duplicative of Dean…

It’s the discrepancy between 40 and shuttle I’m pointing out. 40 time has almost no correlation to NFL success

TJ’s shuttle was 4.17. That is a monster difference

It's still pretty early, but the consensus NFL mock draft big board has Trotter Jr. listed as their 16th ranked prospect overall.

However, he is more of a traditional ILB prospect and not an EDGE rusher prospect like Nolan Smith.

Howie would have to break from historical draft trends to take Trotter Jr. in the first round, and I have a hard time seeing him do that. However, I was also pleasantly surprised with the Nolan Smith pick this year, despite being labeled an EDGE rusher, Nolan Smith was still a LB that the Eagles drafted in the 1st round!

I'm not sure if the Eagles take Trotter Jr. in the first round, maybe if he falls to round 2 for some reason, I can see Howie going for it.

He is a bottom of 2, early 3rd round prospect. I suspect he will go in the 3rd.

I like that Ruke Orhorhoro DL pick in the second.

Don't really like taking WR at 50.

I did read an article where someone projected the Eagles to take a QB, Carter Bradley out of Southern Alabama, in the 6th round.

Don't know about that. I doubt it.

We already have Pickett who was a first round pick by the Steelers in 2022 and Tanner Mckee, the Eagles 6th round pick in 2023, just last year.

So, QB1 already has 2 young backup QBs. Maybe an Undrafted Free Agent as a camp arm.

But you wanna draft a QB in the second round? We do have an extra second rounder.
