Posted May 7, 20232 yr Sure - the press hasn't spoken to him, but he's been speaking to us about his defensive philosophy. Think about the corners we've acquired and where Desai coached last. They're all big and he comes from Seattle where Pete Carroll loves big corners. Greedy Williams 6'2" Eli Ricks 6'2" Mekhi Garner 6'1" Kelee Ringo 6'2" Tristan McCollum 6'3" While there isn't any question that Avonte Maddox is our slot corner it seems like a change in overall philosophy which isn't good news for 5'11" Zech McPhereson and 5'9" Josiah Scott and could even ieffect 6'0" Josh Jobe. Then there's his time in Chicago working with Vic Fangio and becomming defensive coordinator. In his last year the sacks per pass attempt were #1 in the league. So the Eagles add - Jalen Carter Nolan Smith Moro Ojomo Sure a strong pass rush fits perfectly with the Eagles overall philosophy and it bodes well for Sweat, Riddick and BG.

May 9, 20232 yr He was only is Seattle one year but it's fair to wonder how much he picked up from Carroll in that time. And of course whether that had any say in Howie's move anyway
May 9, 20232 yr Sure maybe Desai does favour big DBs and that makes sense in terms of his Seattle connections. But you’ve got to be good as well as big and there’s question marks about a lot of the guys on that list above.

May 13, 20232 yr How about Jordan Love, Patrick Queen, Bumper Poole, or I need to find a new cliche McKinstry...do any of these work?
