Is it safe to assume we will most likely just see 1 series from the starters at the Linc and 2nd team to rooks the rest of the games/snaps?

For the next few weeks it is all about the 2nd team.

I believe last year, the main starters played a single series in the 1st game and then nothing after that. A few fringe starters played a little longer. Even at off ball LB, the coaches know Dean and Elliss are locks to make the team. Since they may only keep a total of 4 guys,  the rest of them will get plenty of preseason action. They'll want to see Jack, Morrow, and Cunningham on STs as well. Whoever we keep has to be able to contribute there.

I don’t care if any essential starter plays a down of preseason football, but I was wondering why all of the Georgia kids got snaps against the Ravens except for Dean. Seems like one guy who should have been out there even for a little to knock some of the rust off would have been him especially when you consider Davis played and he’s slated as a starter too.

It might have had something to do with having just returned to full participant from the ankle injury.

Well now that Bradley went down I doubt we see him at all.

Do you give respect to Patrick Mahomes for playing so much in the first preseason week or do you think it was foolish and he could've been injured especially the qb sneaks.

Andy tends to run a difficult camp and tough practice. He also plays his players in the preseason as well. He’s old school that way. I think it is about preference. The Eagles went a different direction and made it to the Super Bowl with few injuries. The Chiefs went old school and made won the Super Bowl having more injuries. Personally I don’t think putting the franchise out in a game that doesn’t matter is worth the risk. Mahomes doesn’t need preseason to get better.

I think Patrick Mahomes wanted to show his teammates and fans that he wants to put the work in and give them an entertaining show. Yet had he been injured, everyone would've questioned why Andy Reid had him play so much in a meaningless game. Especially when you consider that he just won the SuperBowl & NFL MVP and doesn't have anything to prove.

I have torn feelings on it because I feel all starting QBs should play at least one whole quarter in at least one preseason game prior to the start of the season. However all across the NFL most teams have opted not to play their starting QB in Preseason in any fashion.
