Strong arm and accurate. He will only get better. To me, it's the #1 trait I want in a QB. IMO, there's no substitute for pinpoint accuracy.

He has plenty of experience in the NFL as an adequate QB. Hopefully we don’t need him. The good news is that McKee has looked pretty good so far if he continues to struggle and we do need a backup. I agree there are times the fans can overreact to preseason games. Heck I still remember the hype surrounding Sam Bradford’s preseason debut as an Eagles that led to a mediocre season. The one thing that we shouldn’t ignore in Philly is the use of the backup quarterback though, because the backup has been used almost every season over the past 15 years. Hurts has missed games the last two seasons. It’s an almost certainty that at some point Mariota will have to play.

While good, I wouldn't call him extremely accurate. My point is that the mental stuff can be taught and learned, but consistent natural accuracy at all levels is rare and to me, highly desirable.
August 19, 20232 yr Foles might be washed, but I'd still take him over where Flacco was a few years ago when they brought him in. I don't even have confidence Mariota can get them through a game in a tough spot. Defenses have a book on him and they will exploit it and keep him from using his legs since he can't throw the freaking ball. Go with the kid as the number two and have a deal with Foles the same way they did a few years ago with McCown. That would make a spot for someone like Ojomo or Tarron Jackson.

There was a clip when Bradford was completing over 70% of his passes, but still sucking. I get why you feel the way you do though. Something about the intangibles of wanting to win isn’t as appreciated as I think it should be.
