This is why I said don't overreact to every free agent signing, a lot can happen during camp and preseason.

He retired because he didn't have it anymore. Then he see's guys getting taken out on stretchers, and said "That's going to be me soon- I'm done."

That and he wants to play more COD.

Maybe the money for Cunningham, Jack, and Morrow could have been thrown at one better player.

All 3 of them are on vet minimums - pay as you go contracts.

The Eagles hardly paid Jack anything for his two week camp cameo, and aren't paying Cunningham or Morrow much at all and that is even if they make it all the way through the year, At the very lease, what they should have certainly done is not trusted Morrow as much - had at least another vet earlier and getting reps throughout summer given the obvious lack of depth a the position.

I have to say this is a strange one. Did he just decide he didn’t feel he had it anymore? Why sign for a team and then retire 2 weeks later?

Perhaps he tried to see what he had left and realized it wasn’t that much.

Coming out of college there were rumours of a degenerative knee condition, he's probably already at the stage he'll be walking with canes by the time he's 40, whats the point of making it worse to play a few snaps a game for another year if the fire isn't there any more?

No official depth chart has been released until after the last preseason game has been completed, so it really is simply guessing based on interviews with the coaching staff and players.

That being said Zach Cunningham will backup Nakobe Dean at Middle Inside linebacker and Nicholas Morrow will start at weak side. I would assume if Nakobe isn't healthy for some reason come week 1 that Cunningham will get the start but I wouldn't count out Nolan Smith if that situation should occur.
