They'd try to gut out wins with Mariota based on his running and the superiority of the WRs and then they are in line for a cheap backup in 2024. If Mariota has to play & stinks then they can play McGee. I don't see them trashing 5 mil and starting with a new guy now I don't expect us to sign Zappe, I'm just surprised that New England are cutting him, their own fans were split over whether he should replace Mac Jones permanently last year, his pre season was patchy but nowhere near bad enough to explain cutting him.

The mystique of Bellichik is wearing off now that Brady is gone and the division doesn't stink

It actually works out perfectly if you think about it. By the time Taylor is eligible to play again, we'll know for sure if we have needs at RB and if it's even worth pursuing. The Colts will also have to lower their trade demands since 4+ games may be gone already. Could also give some leverage in negotiating Taylor's contract.

I'd stay away from him, wait for the draft to select a RB, if that means missing the playoffs then so be it, the last thing they want to do is trade away draft picks for Taylor, he isn't what we need anyhow, Brandon Allen from Wisconsin is their ticket to several championships. Of course they'll have to use a 1st on him, he's currently rated as the 4th best RB but I see him as the best of the bunch.

That offer would have been taken if it was out there. 3rd or 4th may do it once they realize they are going to lose him for nothing.

When I said they'll have to spend a 1st on him I was speaking of Braelon Allen who be available in the upcoming draft.

Oh well, I guess they'll draft 3 more OL and 3 more DL, it's like when is enough? That's why our special teams are so bad, we spend too many picks on OL and DL every year, those guys are pretty much useless on the return and coverage teams. They need to realize that there are other positions on the roster that need addressing like RB, CB, and LB, which those guys can play on the return and coverage teams. I would have drafted Zach Charbonnet with last years 2nd 1st, doing so would have pretty much guaranteed a return to the SB, no, we drafted 2 DL with those 2 1st along with 0 RBs, 0 LBs and 0 CBs.

Never enough in the trenches. You've been here long enough to know what their philosophy is. One that won them a Super Bowl. Further, I'll put money on our RBs this year being more productive than Seattle's. They're going to need DE with Graham likely retiring and Barnett likely moved. Not much depth at OL who know's how much longer Lane will play. Kelce is likely done after this year so going to need OG depth. They'll draft CB before they draft RB high. RB & LB are not priorities for them.

I know, I hate having dominant offensive and defensive lines when we could focus on loading up on bottom of the roster guys who contribute on special teams.
