This schedule is in the Eagles favor.

When the schedule was released, I wasn't liking an early Thursday night game in week 2, followed by a MNF game in week 3, but with how teams approach the preseason nowadays and how sluggish the Eagles ended the game last week, I see the schedule as a blessing in disguise.

The starters go full tilt last week in week 1 getting the rust off, with a short week this week for week 2 and then 10 days to rest up for week 3, and with a bye in like week 10 or 11(i forget exactly where the bye is but I know its around that time) its basically breaking the year up in stages.

Get the rust off in the first 2 weeks,  use the 10 days to gear up for weeks 3 through 10 or so, rest up for the playoff push during the bye, to get through the remainder of the schedule, hoping to get the 1 seed. If you get the one seed, that's another bye.

I like it.

I see it the other way.  This short weak doesn't give them proper time to get thr offense back on track.  Add on the injuries to the defense and the Vikings are catching the Eagles at the perfect time.

But they get the extended week off. Before week 3.

I like we have softer opponents first to get the rust off and get in sync as a team before we face the gauntlet of wks 9 - 15.

Would also rather have the Thurs game and some of these injuries early. September imo is about winning ugly. We're jus finding our form for later and hopefully we're healthy enough to make it count

Having the Thursday game following a Sunday this early is a greater advantage than having a Thursday game much later in the season where guys are tired and banged up.  So in that way it’s definitely in their favor.

We also have some late Sunday games and some west coast travel which complicates things later but the bye falls at a good time.

it really can be overstated to take the season week by week and the coaches will do a good job monitoring players energy levels and rest schedules.  They have it mapped out already but flexibility is key.  That’s something Nick has always done well.  Reading the players and doing what he feels will be best for getting them ready.  I’m not worried at all about the schedule.
