Honestly its sad they had to wheel her around in her last days.  Shameful.  She should have been enjoying those with family and friends.

It's certainly not an RBG-level disaster.  Biden's been confirming federal judges for 3 years.  They'll take a year off until they gain the ability to retake the committee. The GOP going all in on Trump is a huge boost to the Dems keeping the Senate.

I remember when ol' Di was elevated to the office SF mayor after mayor George Moscone and supervisor Harvey Milk were killed by former supervisor Dan White in a very very California type of weird event.  White was initially charged with first degree murder, with the jury convicting him of the lesser offense of voluntary manslaughter after White successfully argued the infamous Twinkie defense with his insanity allegedly brought on from the sugar high he got from eating a Twinkie.  White was sentenced to only 7 years for the two killings and was paroled after serving only 5 years of the sentence.  He committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning a couple of years after his release from prison.

Di parlayed this weird set of events into a successful run for the U.S. Senate in 1992 - a seat she held for over 30 years until her death.

Gavin Newsome has gone on record to say that he'll appoint a black woman to replace her.  There are whispers that Kamala Harris may resign as VP and go back to the Senate, that Newsome will be appointed to replace her as VP, and that bubble head will resign once the impeachment inquiries start uncovering too much dirt, claiming old age and the job being too much for him.

Hey, I smoked a couple of chuck roasts for 3 hours, then braised them with potatoes, carrots and mushrooms in red wine, broth and a touch of old bay seasoning for another 4. 

 

What I'm saying is, dinner has been fantastic.
