I'm loyal to the Eagles. I just don't get into all the media driven clickbait-hate. I don't need to hang my hat on 1 tiny mistake a player made in a win.

FWIW, in this game passer rating when targeted:

Quez: 70.1

Smith: 39.6

Brown: 77.1

Goedert: 155.8

bwhwhahahh heres the passer rating again lmao

His presence makes our our elite 1 and 2 WRs  elite - even when’s he’s underperforming at a Tutu Atwell level………..oh wait …

He's not a 3rd he's a 5th and I don't like him in the slot either, he's miscast there, it's not a position that fits his skill set.

He's not a shifty quick route runner nor is he a bigger possession guy, he's a straightline speed guy who can get deep and keep a D honest, problem is all Defenses play the eagles honest now so the offense adjust.

Eagles won a super bowl with a Quez Watkins type in Torrey Smith, defenses had to account for his deep speed other than that he was useless, luckily Dougie P didnt line him up in the slot they kept him at Z where he was suited and Agholor held down the slot.

Watkins isn't a slot, he's a Torrey Smith and for now he's here and bring miscast and while he is I hope he can make some plays, if not no big deal its not like he's a focal point of the offense.

He’s not even close to a Torrey Smith. He should just be an effective/competent slot. He’s an over-hyped, well to do, experiment that provides no more than Greg Ward at this point. .

He should just run 9 routes.... nothing else.

No hate, just a disagreement. It’s not based on one mistake either. He provides nothing at this point. Just need competence to allow our exceptional one and two to shine (or give a breather to). He extends the field, but can’t catch it. He catches a wide open deep slant, but fails to secure the ball due to poor spatial awareness. He collects a screen pass and fails to take advantage of solid blocking/execution ……….etc, etc.,  etc……

He has 1 career fumble. Even AJ Brown had 2 fumbles last year. Quez has 6 career drops. Smith had 8 drops last season. ALL players make mistakes. IMO, people make a bigger deal out of things than necessary.  People exaggerate the negative to make it seem more often than it really is. That's where I stand.

Well drafting a guy next year isn't going to help Brown be better this year ,🤷‍♂️

I feel like they need to draft corners in the future, but I wouldn’t mind if they traded for a guy to play next to Blankenship now.

This is like comparing a plastic toy hammer to a real one. Their target rates aren’t close at all. Talk about exaggerating something.

Just home from the game and then watching the night game with friends.

Driving in toward the stadium I could already feel the win coming.  The streets were FILLED with Eagles fans - groups on the sidewalk cheering, cars filled with Eagles fans shouting out the windows (me included), etc.  Same for the tailgate areas - 2/3 (or more) Eagles fans - all friendly, and all nuts (in a good way).  Same in the stadium - Eagles fans EVERYWHERE.  The Rams' big slogan is "Whose house?  Rams house."  Several times, when I ran across defeated-looking Rams fans, I pointed out that it wasn't their house anymore.

By the time the 1st Quarter was over, it felt like the game was done.  Even when they took the lead for a couple of minutes, there was never a time in which it felt as though we weren't going to win.

We owned their stadium in every way.  My throat hurts from shouting.  Great day!!!

Pass defense got criticized fairly harshly in this one especially early, but in the second half they really seemed to lock things down. One could argue that the Rams had the best quarterback and receiver group the Eagles have faced this season and they held them to only 222 pass yards and due to the sacks had them under a 200 yard net. Despite the red zone struggles the team still was well over 400 yards of total offense. Even though some question how Jalen would be on a different team it doesn’t take away from the fact he’s 22-1 in his last 23 regular season starts. That really means he’s undefeated in his last 22. Many of the quarterbacks the haters gush over can’t even come close to making a claim like that. The kicker to all of this is they can still improve. Also Jalen Carter is now the Eagles leader in sacks.

The Philadelphia Eagles are now 23-20-1 against the Rams All-Time.   They are 8-3 since losing the 2002 NFC Championship to the Rams.  Sean McVay is 1-3 in his career Vs The Eagles.  The Eagles are also 3-0 in LA since 2017..

So I finally watched the game with other eagles fans! Found a Philly bar in London last night. What an atmosphere.

Used this game to introduce football to a friend. Birds made quite the impression. 😃🏈

Anyone know the snap count or % of plays that Carter played yesterday?

Its the way it happened. He could have run straight for a first down but he decides to run directly INTO a tackle....it couldn't have been more obvious he hates contact.....

Watching Quez play feels like watching Raegor.  There's an occasional play where he doesn't F up but most every time he touches the ball, he's a liability.  He's just not a great football player.

I compared his career fumbles and drops to the others' single season. Why? To get the target sample close.

Watkins career: 131 targets, 87 receptions. You're telling me that "rate" isn't close to:

2022 Brown: 145 / 88

2022 Smith: 136 / 95

???

In the end, all I'm saying as that there's a myth being promoted that somehow Quez' mistakes are abnormally high and much more frequent, but in reality, they are somewhat lower than what is reasonably expected. As far as the one career fumble, that also includes 4 career rushes and 14 returns.

I brought up a couple weeks ago how if you had taken that play where Zaccheaus had the ball him him square in the facemask in the endzone on a drive that ended in a turnover on downs 1 play later, and changed the player to Quez, we wouldn't be hearing the end of it. Yesterday he simply failed to execute a screen per design and people are having a meltdown.

THANK YOU!! Its exactly like that.....you expect him to F up and he usually does....

Torrey Smith in 2017 had just over 500 yards as the Z receiver

In 2021 Watkins had 600+ yards as a Z WR and not even one that started all 16 games.

As for his comparison to Greg ward, Greg ward ave. 9 yards a catch in a starting role, that's not good.

As said before Quez isn't a slot it does t really fit his skill set.

Again I hope he can make some plays going forward.

Yup, I have no idea who that guy would be but yes.

UNSTOPPABLE- when the EAGLES do it.

Just got to trade for a good safety and sort out the red zone issues and we will be looking really really strong for another SB run.

I’m excited for Eli Ricks personally. I think he’s a steal. Ringo hasn’t played much either. I’d like to see their progression for sure. I do think Slay/Bradbury were a bit overvalued based on last year’s success, but hopefully we have outs on them before they’re broken down.

Perhaps those guys need time to get better, but is that just in a year? It’s just hard to tell and right now they’re guys in early rounds of the draft who are coming in ready to play. There is just too many young question mark players in the secondary. We are hoping Ringo, Ricks, and Brown all hit. That just seems like a huge ask.

You’re comparing a career to a season. It’s a bogus stat, because one player isn’t targeted nearly as another. That’s why you make ridiculous comparisons like your boy Barnett to Kelce in penalties. One guy barely plays while the other plays every down. You’re cherry picking stats to try and make your boy look good. Nobody buys it though.

He did t short arm it or half ass it,there have been multiple screen shots and replays shoeing the DB with his arm wrapped around Quez waist and turning him far before the ball got there which caused the ball to be just out if reach.

When I first saw the play live I thought the same, I so determined why the heck quez slowed up and short armed it, it's because he was being held and the refs ignored it

They called it later against bradberry which was more ticky tack and didn't really have the same impact as the ball was way over the receivers head but against Watkins the replays show the DB obviously interfered or held way before the ball was there and no call

Most eagles fans though would rather pile in the guy and stick to narrative then look at it objectively.

Like I said I hope Quez makes some big plays this years, eagles are better when he does.

I hope Quez never sees the field again this year
