Lurie actually petitioned the league for a 2nd alternate helmet. Now that it was approved  they did full Kelly Green. But wanted to also do black. 

I knew about the helmet issue, but I either forgot that two alternate jerseys were permitted, or I just never knew. 

For this game, both teams should have worn their classic throwbacks.
