Props to Cordy Glenn,  came in, looked good in the workout and made JP come to his senses.

Or he looked about 450 and change...

Not even sure wtf they were thinking really. I guess it don't hurt to try. But Pryor did well at RG when he played. Hope he ends up there.

Pryor is a guard, not a tackle.  He has the most experience in our offense (having been here the longest) so probably a safe assumption he is our starting RG on Sunday.  But honestly, I’m for whoever consistently looks best in practice.

No, everyone else was on the cliff though. Hall of fammmmeerrzzz needs reps at the position he's had his whole career or we are doooommmed!!

The business side of football shouldn't surprise us. JP gave the Eagles a chance to evaluate other teammates, try out an experienced FA, and still made the "expected" announcement to his coach a week before week 1 so the team can prepare properly for that game.

Certainly don't disagree with that. I'm glad that he's made the decision he's made. If he's agreed to move across and for no extra money then credit to him for that.

Next time your boss tells you that even though you rake leaves for 10 bucks an hour, but tomorrow you are going to start a new job cutting trees, which pays 15 bucks an hour. But we're still gonna pay you 10, make sure you call JP so he can weigh in to see if you deserve the 15 or not.

For a start it is completely different. Football players earn millions and are set up for life if they are smart enough to. The rest of us are not in that fortunate position so let's not try and compare football with the real world. Also, versatility is important and actually I quite often do things that aren't necessarily my job to help out the team.

I didn’t want them to move him over immediately following Dillard’s injury ... I wanted them to give some of the others (Mailata and was hoping for Wanogho to be in the mix too) a ton of reps to see who they could call upon when JP has to come out for a play/series/half or misses a game or 2 with injury.

I disagree and don't think they are different at all.  Earning scale and value are exactly what make the comparison possible.   Peters chose a highly skilled profession of which there are less than 20 people in the world that can do what he does as well as he does.

When you help out rhe team do does your job title and responsibilities also change?

It is completely different because JP has already been paid $100M from the Eagles. Has he earned that? Absolutely! But the team have continued to extend him and stick by him and pay him the going money for a high level LT. They brought him back to play RG but he must have realised there was a good chance that he'd have ended up playing some time at LT?

Only played 74.9% of snaps last year.  Hasn’t played more than 80% since 2016.

75% of JP is worlds better than 100% of our others options. This is a godsend

The question now becomes, who spells JP when he misses time with injury (with his injury history it is a matter of when not if).

Well hopefully they still bring in Glenn? That's my hope anyway. Still seems like a logical move.

Past earnings aren't relevant.  And now, he's not being asked to play "some time" at LT.  He's the starting LT with the hope and expectation he remains so for the entire season.

In any case I just hope the Eagles know what they’re doing. Seems like they’re playing a dangerous game with the protection of a QB that has a long injury history.

True although probowl LTs are like probowl QBs. There simply aren't that many of them. Peters has all the leverage here.

I'm just glad that some sense of normality will occur . We have games this Sunday people....!  Inspite of all the injuries. and all the Covid problems. The NFL will play this Sunday folks! Basically down 1 starter on the OL. with Brooks. A bit lite on the WR's with DJ, and the rookies - with the injuries there. I just hope that Lane is good, and everyone who is really healthy who missed time the last 2 weeks. We have new safety pairings, and Slay at CB1. Barnett, will be interested to see if he is healthy. Look forward to the 1st injury report on Wed.

After this weekend, after our performance , everyone will evaluate the game and give their opinions on how the OL performed. It wont be a picnic with all those #1 draft picks on Washington's Defense.

Howie probably slipped him some under-the-table money and JP took it and agreed to slide over.

Debartolo style!

When Doug was asked who the RG would be if it was Pryor. Doug hedged a little. He said It could be Pryor, Herbig or Discoll. So if they are thinking of signing Glenn only after the 1st game, so his salary is not guaranteed , due to tough salary cap limits. The Eagles really don't have huge salary flexibility right now. Then maybe Pryor is the emergency LT if JP needs a spell during the game for  this Sunday.. Lets hope that JP plays the whole game, as Pryor has the most experience at RG and should start there this Sun. Otherwise there is Jordan, Herbig and Driscoll who would be the 1st drops. It maybe a fluid situation after the top 5, if there are injuries in game this Sunday. Don't know the answer to that question. So lets hope we don't have to find out at least for this Sunday.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. If Peters did demand more money to play LT then I don't agree with it, but you do and that's fine.

I think Pryor would start at RG right? I know Doug didn't want to confirm that but I can't see it being Herbig or Driscoll? Pryor has played there for us before and I think for the rest of this week will slide back across in practice.

I think they roll the dice and Pryor will be RG... and hope no one goes down the 1st game...

Yeah I'd agree with that I think they probably will. It's a risk but I think that's what they'll do. I definitely think Pryor plays at RG. Unless he's shot due to how poorly he apparently played at LT? But then that's a whole other issue if he is.

That would most definitely be a solid move, but have to wonder if Glenn would accept a role on the bench and also how much he’s looking to be paid (due to our cap situation starting next year).

At this point he can’t be looking for too much. A small paycheck is better than no paycheck.

No doubt.  But you know how ego gets in the way of logic with some players.  If we were able to sign him to a team friendly deal such that he backs up JP (in reality, platoons with JP because of how often he leaves the field) and then start Pryor at RG with Herbig and Driscoll working/competing to back him up, I’ll feel pretty darn good about our OL situation considering we lost 2 starters to season-ending injury before the season even started.

100 percent agree.

Huh?

I dont know that he's ever been called offsides.

False starts, yes... but offside? He'd have to line up wrong to do that.

It's a joke about people busting on him for false starts. But if I have to explain a joke... welp. 😂
