Sure, the coaching is trash. But Hurts is clearly way too incompetent to run an NFL offense. They gave him way too much control in play calling which caused a ton of our issues offensively. He's terrible in situational football. He's just stupid.

Teams line up in different looks to through the defense off and then switch through motions to the formation they actually want. The niners use it a little to some success but it’s a below average formation. Especially when you factor in the way we run out of it because we don’t move Hurts up at all. We keep him at the same depth as our standard shotgun offense with the RB lined up even more behind him causing the rb to need to make up even more ground. This is common in the nfl now because teams don’t want the threw off the timing on pass plays. Your air raid comment earlier is just dumb because you can pass out if any formation now because the defense can’t touch receivers. The best run plays come from motioning the rb next to the QB to bring him closer to the LOS. The nfl defenses are too fast for the RB to be even further back than he needs to be.

We’ve been seeing a lot of these beatings lately and I guarantee we will see many more in the future. If we keep Nick it’s an absolute certainty, but also if Jeff and Howie don’t change their philosophy going forward, this team may never be competitive for the next decade. Bring in real football minds and leave football to those who know the game and how to play it. stay out of it and just watch from your luxury box.
