This may explain why so many WWE wrestlers were laid off as fast as they were, likely having to show damage from the XFL's problems due to the Pandemic: 

As much as I understand why Luck is suing, there was no way the XFL was going to be able to continue, if they can continue at all until at least 2023 due to the increasing likelihood College Football is going to have to be delayed until at least January and more likely February 2021 due to Universities NEEDING the revenue from games with fans in the stands and then the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing making it impossible to have a season that would gain traction due to those games taking place over what would be the first two weekends of play in the XFL.  That leaves 2023 as the absolute earliest the XFL could realistically resume, IF the XFL is able to resume at all.  Mr. Luck needs to realize this was NOT McMahon's fault bur a "force majure" (Act of God) that caused this.

The XFL was never going to be a threat to the NFL, and it was never going to get the top college kids:

It's goal was to carve out a niche during the late winter and early spring after the NFL season ended and before baseball and the NBA and Stanley Cup Playoffs really heated up.  This pandemic derailed that and there was no way McMahon could have planned a 2021 season knowing it's possible college football is delayed to as late as February and even the NFL season winds up delayed.  2022 as noted because of the Olympics is impossible, leaving 2023 the absolute earliest the XFL could resume.
