The Eagles are getting a 3rd and 3 5th round picks via the NFL Compensatory pick system, the best haul in the league. While drafts picks can be over-rated, this helps restock the pond at key positions and opens up trade possibilities.

That gives them:

1
2
2
3
5
5
5
5

Awesome! Howie lost key starting players like CJGJ, Edwards, Hargrave, White and Seumalo who were all missed and the defense was horrendous.

But hey, he'll get comp picks he can use on bums that won't ever start and will be off the team in 3 years.

Howie's got a bunch of extra 5th round picks? :excited:

Howie when he picks in the 5th round:

Dion Lewis, Dennis Kelly, Earl Wolff, Ed Reynolds, Taylor Hart, Vaitai (ok that was decent), Wendell Smallwood, Nathan Gerry, Shelton Gibson, Clayton Thorson, John Hightower, Kenneth Gainwell (that one was good).

He might as well use them to trade up.

Wow, the guys other than Hargrave were all 5’s. Very impressive

We should package at least 2 of those to move back up. A 4th day 2 pick would be exciting

OMGZZZZ

Who was the poster that claimed the Patriots won Super Bowls because they let talent go and collected comp picks?

CJ and White didn’t give us any comp picks. Their contracts were too cheap. Not sure CJGJ is a guy they wanted, especially with all of his social media outbursts.

Dion Lewis, Dennis Kelly, and Wendell Smallwood all went on to have solid NFL careers as well. I think you can classify 5 of the 12 as "good" fifth round picks. I imagine hitting on 5 out of 12 ratio on fifth rounders would be pretty high up there among GMs.

Imagine if Howie stops blowing picks on  trades for useless players like Quinn and Byard.

CJ was gone the moment some scumbag stole his car during a game.

Smallwood went on to have a solid career? He had a total of 27 carries for the rest of his career after leaving the eagles and is out of the league

Smallwood had like one good game his entire career.

Gainwell is horrendous

Seumolo was missed 🤣 that's a good one

Packaging 3 fifths for a late second rounder so he can draft a raw Linebacker prospect who 'would've been a first rounder' if he hadn't broken every major bone in his body late in the college season.

After 2 years as a pre season warrior who ends up on the PS, he has four games as starter in 2026 when all our other linebackers break their vaginas, before being waived and going to play 7 games at defensive end for the Scarborough Mooseknuckles in the newly formed CFL 2.

Huh, true, for some reason I thought Smallwood bounced around the league for a few more years and carved out a decent career as a backup, but I was mistaken. I'll revise to 4 of 12 being good 5th rounders.

Dion Lewis was a 5th round pick of ours who fits your description.

Trent Cole was a 5th rounder I believe, solid player for us for several years.

Drafted by Andy Reid 19 years ago in 2005.

He would have been lost either way because he missed like 12-13 games. Rest is fair.

You're probably thinking of Whitehead, the Patriots guy.

Edit: WOODHEAD, not Whitehead. FFS.

Not necessarily. Different circumstances. Just because a player gets hurt on another team on a specific play in a specific situation doesn't mean it would happen elsewhere in a completely different situation.

It's not that I don't disagree with you, but I think thinking about it like this is extremely wishful thinking. He missed like 5 games when we had him too. He's also really overrated but that's another topic. Lol.
