He missed like 5 games when we had him too. He's also really overrated but that's another topic. Lol. Fair. The point is he was a key contributor last year and they wanted to bring him back. He refused and left. Howie then turned to retain Bradberry who sucked. They went with a 2nd year undrafted free agent unproven Blankenship, 3rd round rookie Brown and Edmunds who sucked, then traded for Byard who was washed up.
January 25, 20241 yr It’s a very top heavy draft, so having picks to package into moves up is better than not having the option.

Not sure what happened to the other: https://www.phillyvoice.com/eagles-falcons-amended-trade-conditions-kentavius-street/ Weird that Draftek still shows us with two 6th rounders even after they updated for the comp picks - they usually have things current and accurate: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=Phi
January 25, 20241 yr Keep in mind all the comp picks are at the end of the round, so in essence, it's a high 4th and 3 high 6ths.

I think the Street 6th became a 7th in 2025 and we traded the other 6th to the Titans for Byard. Still weird that Draftek has it wrong.
January 26, 20241 yr In effect, the 6th for Street became TWO 7ths in ‘25. The Eagles get their own seventh back (it was originally a 6 for 7 swap) and get Atlanta’s 7th too.

Howie lost key starting players like CJGJ, Edwards, Hargrave, White and Seumalo who were all missed and the defense was horrendous. But hey, he'll get comp picks he can use on bums that won't ever start and will be off the team in 3 years. Dude, you know how this place gets about draft picks. Until they turn into, you know, actual players....

The best is when fans argue they need more draft picks and get excited about the draft because that's how you build a roster and have success... ...and then also argue they should trade draft picks for proven players because they suck at drafting anyway... ...then if they trade picks for players or trade up to more top talent in the draft, they argue they shouldn't have traded the picks because draft picks are valuable and how you build the team...but they suck at drafting anyway. 🙃

Obviously having more draft picks is always a good thing. It is just unfortunate that actually using them is not one of Howie's strengths (well, talent evaluation skills are weak leading to poor drafting overall). And then because of the poor drafting we find ourselves with holes on the roster that need to be filled via trades for vets (and more often then not either those trades bring in players that don't add much like Quinn or Byard or short term rentals like CJGJ).

March 12, 20241 yr we probably still have that i just went off the numbers that were off the top of my head.
March 13, 20241 yr So we got a 3rd for Hargrave, which I expected. But I was also expecting at least a 4th for Semaulo, TJ Edwards, and CJGJ. But admittedly, I don't know what the formula is.
