It’s pretty impressive to make an all decade team when you only play a few years in that decade.

I thought about it, but your post is longer than his Wikipedia page.

I looked at him.  Only three seasons.  We didn't draft him.  "For who? For what?"

For #32 being such an iconic number in the league (Brown, OJ, Franco, Allen), the Eagles still haven't found their #32.

Wilbert Montgomery.

Sixth round pick out of Abilene Christian in 1977.  Played for the Eagles from 1977-1984.

  • 2× Second-team All-Pro (1978, 1979)
  • 2× Pro Bowl (1978, 1979)
  • Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame

I watched him score this TD on the Eagles first offensive play from scrimmage in the 1980 NFCCG.

One of the most important players in franchise history. His emergence is what sparked the turnaround from also-rans to contenders. Almost overnight. As good as Harold was, Wilbert was the key component of that offense. Great player. Loved him. Met him once later as well. Nice guy.
