I was a big Bobby Taylor fan. I root for Notre Dame and I had watched him throughout his career and thought he was outstanding. I was so excited when the Eagles were able to get him in round two. He didn't disappoint. Yeah, he was a bit soft but when you're tall and you can cover, that's something that can be forgiven.

I was expecting Johnny Outlaw there.

I was in this thread a few days ago and was wondering why the countdown was off by 2 days ^_^

Did the NFL say why eagles/packers was a friday night game? I haven't looked at the eagles entire schedule but hopefully they don't have a lot of late games like last year.

Found the answer.

This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during Super Bowl Week. "Playing on Friday night of Week 1 is a unique way to highlight our international growth and ambitions."

Obviously everybody was waiting on me for this one ... so here it is:

Norm Snead.

Second overall pick out of Wake Forest in 1961 by the Redskins.  Was traded to the Eagles in 1964 for future HOF QB Sonny Jurgensen.

He was the face of a pathetic era in Eagles history.  His record was 28-50-3 as a starter from 1964-1970.

Look at that green and tell me that it’s the same shade that they wore last year which they tried to pass off as authentic.

Also, my dad thought Snead was a pretty solid quarterback. Obviously not as good as Sonny of course, but far from the disaster that most fans seem to think. The team was just bad around him.

They had a winning record the year I was in first grade. They didn’t have another winning record til after I graduated high school. My childhood Eagles fandom was misery.

I’m really looking forward to the opening game given that it’s on a Friday night(Saturday morning) so it’s something new. And I’ll finishing up in the place I’m in now, and have nearly two weeks off and that weekend I plan on working loose and I intend to have a few drinks watching the game.
