June 18, 20214 yr Layover at DIA, so time for customary morning beer(s)! In my defense, my body is still on Hawaii time (although, I did luckily catch some Zs on the plane). I'm at New Belgium, doing a Black Ale and an intriguing Honey Orange Tripel.

June 18, 20214 yr My sister and her family just moved to Okinawa - her husband will be stationed there for 3 years. Hoping to make it there while they're living there.

Any beers exclusive to their airport location? I like when breweries offer something only available at a particular location, as opposed to a small number of beers that all end up being available in cans.

I'm not sure if anything was airport-specific, but I told the bartender that it was nice to try some beers that I don't have access to. Like, you see Fat Tire everywhere these days, but not much else. I also tried the 1552. It was nice, kinda roasty/choclatey. Dark beers are my jam

They are going camping in Zion Park Utah on Fri/Sat, driving to San Diego Sunday, back to Vegas next Wed and home Thurs and then moving in together next weekend. As you know daughter is a huge Dave Matthews fan and we are searching for another roadie to do this year. We’ve done the Gorge out in Washington State. SPAC in Saratoga Springs NY, and Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. Stayed In Milwaukee and also did Summer Fest. Took the high speed ferry across Lake Michigan to Muskogee MI for a day trip. Sea Hear Now festival Asbury Park, NJ. All good times. There’s a casino resort in Oklahoma that looks pretty nice in October-but I’m not ready to fly yet and the nearest airport is Dallas. Not going there! May go to Syracuse show in August. Looking to also visit another Great Lake and stay in Oswego NY right on Lake Ontario. Seems an easy drive. No planes. Anyone been? Drove up to Niagara Falls twice. The county highways are the best route IMO. Not as many people and waaaay better views.

When I go to Fort Erie, Ontario, I take US 20A from Mount Morris to East Aurora. I love the rolling hills and farmland in that area.
June 20, 20214 yr I'd like to do an England, Ireland, Scotland tour for a few weeks. Those islands seem to always be locked down. Gonna have to wait until things are truly opened up again.

It’s super humid in the summer. But you can walk everywhere (or take the trolley). I love the food in NOLA.

I typically drive from Pike Creek to Buffalo, and if I have a full tank of gas, I can eat lunch at noon in Delaware, and then eat dinner at 6:30 in Buffalo. I drive fast, but you should be able to make it to Oswego in 6 hours or so, even with a quick stop. If you do go to Oswego, I suggest saving toll money and possible traffic issues by not taking the Northeast Extension, and taking Route 15 from Harrisburg to Williamsport and Corning, NY, and then going through the Finger Lakes. The scenery is great, and you can stop by a few wineries. NY Route 14 up the western side of Seneca Lake is a particularly scenic drive. Thanks. I've done the Route 15 to Niagara Falls many moons ago. I may come home this way but will most likely just do NE ext and I81 right into Syracuse for our 1st night . After that though, we'll be exploring. When I did Saratoga Springs I did I-88 and the NE ext instead of the NJ turnpike. We stopped at Cooperstown on the way home that year. Found Lake Otsego on a back road. Didn't know it was the source of the Susquehanna. It is really nice in NY State. Looking forward to seeing more of it, and Lake Ontario!

Not sure. You can stay in the French Quarter of course. My last time there we were in the Loew’s Hotel by the Convention Center. That was nice. My parents met us there and they stayed in the Garden district. That’s a cool area as well.
July 12, 20214 yr grand canyon trip is next week. i'll be sure to take a few pics of myself looking like a toolbag standing in front of the grand canyon & sheet.
