hputenis
Posted this in the old EMB yesterday. Was really looking forward to this trip to Belgium/France. I was fortunate enough to get married in Cabo in October last year. We decided that wasn't going to be our honeymoon, so we planned our real honeymoon to go to Bruges, Brussels, then finish up in Paris. Luckily though, this past weekend we set up a tray table in my backyard and played SkipBo and Gin Rummy. Then we played wiffle ball in our bathing suits, I taught my wife how to throw a frisbee, and we finished up with some croquet and dozens of shots of Jack Fire and Rumplemintz while I re-watched the Patriots win their 487th AFC championship game from 2018. We can probably cancel the honeymoon now. Dreams really do come true.
HazletonEagle
already cancelled a bahamas cruise in may. cancelled a kalahari trip Due to the cruise getting postponed till next year, that also postpones our first family trip to Disney another year as well. that was 1 year away, now its 2 years away. now hoping we can at least go to OCNJ in July but kinda expecting that wont happen either.

Bruh, your timeline for family trips is eerily similar to mine. We booked a Bahamas cruise back in January for this coming October sailing out of.... NYC. No way that's happening. We also plan on doing Disney in 2022 when the youngest turns 4 (they'll be 9, 8 and 4... perfect time to go). That might end up being the next trip by default. This was booked for about a year in advance and 2 months away we got cancelled. Planned on doing disney next year, but not both get moved back a year. Ours will still be good ages for Disney. We will have 8 and 4 or 5 by that time. Itll probably be better actually anyway.

They absolutely loved it. I've been on a few cruises and have started to sour on them over the years, but we got a smokin' deal on the one coming up in October so we decided to just do it and take the kids again. Like I said, they absolutely loved the first one they went on so it's basically all for them. Just can't fathom cruises will be up and running by October, let alone cruises out of NYC. I don't want anything to do with it even if it is running. TBH, I think that whole industry is in major trouble anyways.

But our first, 10 years ago was out of Orlando. Last year I realized we could skip the airfare and be at a port in a short 2 hour drive. It was incredible. Not that we are big cruisers, but Ill never try a different cruiseline. We have loved both of ours and were so excited for this one. Im afraid we would be disappointed with another cruise line in comparison. Most likely this would have, or will be our last cruise for quite a while. We usually only do an OCNJ vacation. Just were going this one for the kids, and then a disney trip but we arent usually doing 2 big trips a summer. I think these cruise lines will bounce back. Royal Caribbean had so much money to spend it is crazy. They have/had so many projects going on. But in the short term its gonna be shaky. I was just reading this morning to be careful investing in them right now. Even though theyll likely bounce back, short term they may file chapter 11 and shareholders usually get wiped out with that. Our first was also 10 years ago out of Orlando/Cape Canaveral . Monarch of the Seas I believe it was. Just a small 4-day cruise over to Nassau and back. Second one we did was two years later on Oasis of the Seas for part of our honeymoon. The one we have booked for October is also on the Oasis again. Apparently they've done $150m worth of renos which is pretty crazy considering it's only like 10 years old. They sunk a billion dollars into their private island Coco Cay which is supposed to be one of the stops. I've been on Royal and Carnival and Royal blows them out of the water. Don't waste your time with Carnival. Like I said, I've kinda soured on cruises a bit so I'm not sure if/when the next one will be. The ships are amazing with really cool stops, but it's the people that suck.

We were booked for the newly amplified Oasis of the Seas this may and I was pumped to be on a ship that big. I know the kids were going to love it. And we were gonna hit Coco Cay. I know they also bought another bahamas resort and were going to make another private island there. And supposedly they were going to also spend a ton of money to make Labadee more like Coco Cay as well. And had a ton of other ship amplifications about to happen. Its unbelievable the money they spend. You know theyve been making a ton. Ive never had a bad experience and with the convenience of NY its better than ever. So easy now to go to places Id otherwise never be going. I dont know when we will ever do another one again after next years bahamas cruise but I want to do a Europe/Mediterranean one day.
Dawkins 20
Coco Cay looks amazing. They've done a hell of a job on building it up. Looking to eventually do a resort without the kids. Likely in Mexico. Anyone have any suggestions?
Agent23
After getting my FL house sold I booked travel/events in D.C., Orlando, and NYC in late March; all of which got cancelled. Was going to see Giannis in person for the first time. I think this year (unless the NBA comes back this summer for a post-season) is my first NBA season without attending a game in approx a decade. Kinda bummed.

BirdsFanBill
I'm the guy who was supposed to get married April 18th and then go to Portugal for a 2 week honeymoon at the end of June/beginning of July. No idea what we're going to do now, wedding was moved to July 24 if that even happens and honeymoon is in limbo.

Not incredibly easy to get to, but one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean.

You may have quite a few peripheral guests who do not attend, but I bet late July will be a green light for weddings and travel. Sorry about that...that does suck. But you'll get it done.
BFit
Had to cancel Martinsville for the inaugural night race in May, Poconos in late May, and ocean City NJ in June. Also, not looking good for Kentucky in July and Phoenix in August. Those were both for races too
eagle45
I went on safari in South Africa in the first week of March, literally the last possible minute before we knew we were up against something so bad. And we came home to chaos. We have a 5 day trip to Iceland booked for May 14. I expect to cancel, but May 14 also happens to be the target date for resuming normal life.
