February 25Feb 25 Jason Peters to retire, take job in Seahawks front office Quote Jason Peters has played his final snap. Seahawks General Manager John Schneider told reporters at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis that Peters has decided to retire after spending the last two decades in the league. Schneider said, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, that Peters will take a job in the team’s player engagement department. Peters played the final eight games of his career with the Seahawks in 2023. He spent time on their practice squad in 2024, but did not make it onto the active roster at all. Peters signed with the Bills after going undrafted in 2004 and was named a second-team All-Pro in his final two seasons with the team. He joined the Eagles in 2009 and remained with the team through the 2020 season. He was a two-time first-team All-Pro during that run and helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII. He spent time with the Bears and Cowboys before closing out his playing days in Seattle. Peters made nine Pro Bowls and was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-2010s team during a run that should make Peters a strong candidate for the Hall of Fame itself in five years. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jason-peters-to-retire-take-job-in-seahawks-front-office

March 2Mar 2 A lot of Eagles fans wanted him to retire after his play started to decline. But what those fans don't appreciate is that he loved playing football and wanted to play as long as he was able to. Because of his decline and how he bounced around after he left, his legacy in some Eagles fans' minds will take a hit. But, man ... how can anybody not like a guy that just loves to play this game? He was the anti-Shawn Andrews. Both players were teammates at the University of Arkansas for a couple seasons. Andrews earned tons of accolades as an offensive lineman and was eventually drafted in the 1st round. He had all the potential to be the best OG in the NFL for at least a decade. IMO, the injuries quickly stole his love for football and we all saw what happened with his career. He signed big contracts and then bailed on his teams. Peters, on the other hand, was a TE in college , went undrafted, played ST for a couple seasons while he learned to play OT in the NFL. He worked hard, earned many accolades at the NFL level and played as long as his body allowed him to win a job on a roster. It's not a surprise at all that he went into a (front office) job with an NFL team right away. He may not be physically able to help a team on the field anymore, but his love for the game will keep him employed.
March 2Mar 2 Peters made another 9 million in the 2020's to push his earnings to almost 120m If he loved playing and they paid him, good show.

A bunch of "stupid Howie" sentiment, angry that Bradberry was still on the roster. Seems pretty silly in hindsight, doesn't it?

Then he had a mediocre showing in the Divisional win vs the Falcons and some wanted Sudfeld to start the NFCCG. I still laugh to myself about that.

Mostly different players and coaches at this point. So how he fits would be less certain. The FO might be interested still because they know him. His potential addition would give us another DT that could play NT if something were to happen to Davis.

Different DC and different defense when he was here. Hargrave is a pass rushing specialist, can be a liability against the run. Is on the wrong side of 30 and would be a downgrade from Milton Wms. I don't see it.
March 6Mar 6 I just realized that Chump Kelly traded Foles, Shady, and released DJ from top 5 offenses in 2013 and 2014 and they now have 4 rings Shady chased rings in KC and Tampa DJ was on the 2021 Rams for 7 games and got a ring.
