September 24Sep 24 The real one that got away was Isaiah Rodgers anyway.https://www.vikings.com/news/isaiah-rodgers-touchdowns-forced-fumbles-defense-bengals-week-3

If he was outright released and not waived they could probably get him on the cheap. He could be a real chess piece for the defense and play some slot which would enable Coop to play a little bit more outside as well in the slot. Why do you willingly ignore the reason why the Eagles let him walk the 1st time, and traded him the 2nd?

They have a bunch of guys they need to look at signing long term, moving CJ this offseason helped with that. They sent him to a 'contender' to do right by him. There was never any reported animosity with them parting the second time. I actually thought CJ was out for the year with the knee injury he had in pre-season, so I was surprised to see him jawing with Baker the other week.

It was reported that there were concerns about his exit beyond cap. Both times he has left, included personality/fit reasons.

His second departure was almost assuredly due to his locker room presence/personality.

He had personal issues both times he was an Eagle. The 2nd time they knew they needed him and were willing to deal with the internal things. After winning the SB, the 2nd time they let him know that they would release him if they could not find a trade partner over the summer. He's not coming back here.

When he left for Detroit Howie was working hard to sign him right before free agency started but he was asking for too much money. Howie then pivoted and re-signed Bradberry instead. CJ sat on the market for a while and ended up taking the same or even less than the Eagles offered but by then the money went to Bradberry and they moved on. This was all widely reported at the time. Furthermore maybe use a little common sense because if they let him leave the first time over "personal issues" as you stated why would they turn around and bring him back just one year later, and no your "they realized they needed him" excuse doesn't fly. He 100% left over money the first time, period end of story. As far as the second time he left, there were reports that it had to do with Money. First that he was might have been asking for more, or that the Eagles just wanted to free up money to re-sign younger player. There were also rumblings that maybe there was more to it than that but nothing concrete. There was also speculation that Vic didn't like the way he would freelance in the secondary and prioritize going for big plays over playing within the system. In the end it was probably a combination of all of the above. So the first time he left it was 100% about money and the second time there was a collection of rumor and speculation between money and off the field issues. You are right about one thing though, he isn't coming back and it's because a stupid NFL prohibits him from doing so even if they wanted to.

You are right about one thing though, he isn't coming back and it's because a stupid NFL prohibits him from doing so even if they wanted to.I am not wrong that both of his departures had something to do with his team fit. Common sense says, you can evaluate a team and see the loss of a certain kind of player and how it affected your team. I never said the reason was 100% personal related. They were willing to as you said, the opportunity to bring his on-filed attitude and playmaking. When they originally signed him from the Saints, the reports were that the Saints were moving on not because of money only. There is no excuse, the defense was better with him. But, the same reasons existed as far as fit and his temper.
September 26Sep 26 I think there's a lot more speculation and conjecture than fact being circulated about the reasons the Eagles made the decisions they did. I never saw anybody within the organization say anything critical about his personality. We did clearly make extending him a priority after 2022. The two sides just couldn't agree on the amount. The team was prepared to extend CJGJ and move on from Slay that offseason. When it was clear the two sides couldn't work out a deal, the team instead used those cap resources toward keeping Slay and Bradberry. The team happily brought him back before the 2024 season and he once again provided a spark on defense with big plays.I mean ... he was clearly a fit here and he worked out for this defense two times out of two. There is evidence supporting the cap argument, but there is none supporting the personality speculation. Obviously he can't sign with us right now and IDK if the Eagles are even interested in taking reps away from Makuba who has a chance to learn and grow a great deal as a rookie. Hypothetically, if there was any interest by the Eagles, it might be to use CJGJ as a nickel and move DeJean outside. We don't really have a glaring need at Safety. Whether he's viewed as a Safety or a nickel CB has been a point of contention in the CJGJ camp (due to positional value). Although all theses "reunions" are fun to talk about, this one seems unlikely for now.
September 26Sep 26 Cjgj in my opinion free lances to much sometimes it works out and he makes a big int other times it doesn’t and we are all wondering how there was someone left wide open for a 70 yard td! I think the system Vic runs relies more on every man playing there position.

October 5Oct 5 Update: It appears that Sanchez was the attacker. The other adult male was in his car and Sanchez attacked him (lacerations). Its possible the stabbing was self defense. We will learn more but Sanchez was arrested (but is still in the hospital)

October 21Oct 21 Anyone else watch CB Josh Jobe last night on MNF vs the Texans? He played press perfectly out on an island in the red zone. Almost picked it off with inside position on an inside throw. He is 3rd on the Seahawks in tackles with 26 solo and 8 assisted. We cut him. He would look good now for us

He got caught in a numbers game before last season as we had Slay (and Bradberry), drafted Mitchell and Dejean, had Rodgers reinstated, Brought back Maddox and signed FA Tyler Hall --- We still had McPherson, Ricks, and a few others competing for final roster spots. He continued his development on Seattle last season and has earned his starting job this year.
