A.J. Brown pops up on practice report with a hamstring injury

Receiver A.J. Brown was a surprise addition to the Eagles’ practice report Friday. He was limited with a hamstring injury.

Brown caught five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening win over the Packers.

He did not play in the Eagles’ playoff loss to the Bucs last season because of a knee injury, but Brown has played every game since joining the Eagles before the 2022 season.

The Eagles will release their status report for Monday Night Football on Saturday, which will provide more insight into the severity of Brown’s injury.

The Eagles also added backup offensive tackle Fred Johnson to their practice report as limited with a thumb injury.

The rest of the report remained the same as Thursday with defensive tackle Milton Williams (foot) limited and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (hand) and linebacker Devin White (ankle) full participants. Rodgers and White were inactive for the season opener.

Hamstrings are tricky af. Hopefully it's nothing.

Sounds like "tightness." Not too worried. I expect he'll have no injury designation on the final injury report before the game.

Slightly concerning that he’s popped up on the injury report!

Was this reported somewhere? I haven’t seen any details come out yet.

Kempski said this yesterday: "Brown presumably injured his hamstring in practice on Friday".

What I said wasn't reported. It's my presumption based on how the Eagles have handled "tightness" in starters the last few years. He didn't leave practice, he was LP --- which is a good indication they are just trying to get it to loosen up through stretching and mild activity.

Once again, it's just speculation on my part.

Heard a rumor that's he's not playing in the Falcons game.

Did not practice today but I’m sure this is just precautionary (he doesn’t need to practice).  But I also wouldn’t doubt he is held out of Monday’s game … also precautionary … so as to not aggravate the injury and make it worse.

Well it is the falcons lol

Official injury designation = questionable.

Honestly would rather they be cautious and sit him the next game if there's any question rather than him pull it then miss 4-8 weeks.

Given the opponent is the Falcons, if I were the Eagles I would not be at all hesitant to rest AJ for a week.  Smith and Dotson on the outside with Covey taking the slot snaps.  Elevate Parris Campbell from the Practice Squad.  If Wilson also needs a hamstring rest, then have Jenkins take his "big WR" snaps.

Downgraded to OUT 😭

I love it

Well that sucks

Is it too late to change my prediction in the other thread?  lol

Sucks but as I said yesterday I would way rather him miss a game or two than try to play and make it worse and miss 4-6 weeks.

So now Smitty will get doubled.

Jalen, use your TE and RBs.

Ok, rest him so his injury doesn't get worse.

Smitty, Datson, Goedert, Barkley. Get it done.

100%

If Hurts plays a clean game we should have more than enough to win.
