Time to shake off the Falcons game and get ready for a Saints team that is 2-0 both SU and ATS.
Scary stat: going back to last season, the Eagles are 3-7 SU and 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games.
Proceed with caution, Eagles backers.

Line: Saints - 2.5/3
Total: 49.5
Moneyline: Saints -155/Eagles +125

You’d have to be a special kind of stupid to bet on the birds right now.  Hoping as the season progresses they start playing up to snuff but right now … they’re far from doing so.

Easy win for the Saints. They are home and crushing teams.

That’s the thing about the NFL. I thought Indy would wipe the floor with GB who had Malik Willis at QB. And Tampa beats Detroit, Arizona beats down LA, Minnesota beats SF and Las Vegas beats Baltimore. Who on earth is picking these upsets?

On paper, it doesn’t look good, especially without AJ but any given Sunday. Let’s not forget that Derek Carr is New Orleans QB and he is prone to turnovers and getting rattled.

The only thing Carr will be prone to on Sunday is throwing touchdowns against this pathetic defense full of losers.

🤣🤣🤣

Carr gonna carve up this D like a chick with braces giving head.

Hard time believing the Eagles go into NO and come out with a win.

How on earth are we only +2.5/3? I’m taking that line all day every day for NO. I think they’ll win by at least 10.

Fully expecting an L on sunday.

Won't be too bad if we at least turn up and make it competitive, but if we bend over and spread our cheeks, siriani's days have to be numbered.

With this team over the last few years I’ve started to come to the acceptance that we rarely respond in the way you’d hope. After a loss you want to see the team correct things and go out there and fight for everything and I just don’t feel like this team has done that for some team. So I’m fully expecting us to lose and in fact I think it’ll be by more than a score. I hope I’m wrong, I hope this team is mighty p***ed about Monday night.

I think we win.  I think the Saints are a good team, but they beat up on the pathetic Panthers, and a Cowboys team that each year always has unrealistic super bowl aspirations.

I  see us winning 30-21

Does AJ Brown play? If no, I don't think the Eagles have the weapons to keep up with the Saints in the Superdome. Saints are rolling rn.

We saw that last year. After some of the L's you'd expect some sort of response but it just never happened and same stupid crap just repeated over and over.

If AJ Brown plays it will be a competitive game. I think if he misses then we could get blown out. I'm not sure what Eagles team this is yet.

Exactly this! Look could we go in to NO and win? I guess… I mean the Raiders just beat the Ravens and were +8.5… but I don’t know with this team I just don’t feel like they turn things around like that. I just think we will roll over and see the same issues just like we saw so many times last year.

Word on the street is, having no pass rush is not conducive to winning against teams averaging 45.5 points per game. We haven’t been good in that dome in a long time. Saints win and cover easily.

I hate to be that guy, but so is Jalen these days.

Let me start by saying that I was disgusted by the loss ... for all the reasons we've been talking about. We should be 2-0 right now.

But before the dreadful final 2 minutes, I can honestly say I was getting 2022 vibes from this team. That was the first game since the 2022 season where I saw our offense simply impose their will on the other team. Yeah. AJ was out, Dotson isn't up to speed, and Covey was our second leading pass catcher. Despite being a bit handicapped in the passing game, the falcons couldn't stop us from controlling the game on the ground. In the end we lost because of a mistake. I hated the way the game ended, but otherwise liked what I was seeing.

We are 1-1 after two games and that's far from the end of the world. I feel like getting Jalen's feet involved will really start to open things up for the offense. Jalen has 3 INTs after 2 weeks which is high. He also has the lost fumble, but that's just a stat technicality as that wasn't his fault. I'll be pleased if he can keep from throwing more than 9 more INTs the rest of the season (assuming he plays the whole season) and limit his at-fault fumbles lost to 3 or less. Hopefully, if there are some errant snaps, he'll be able to manage them to prevent additional turnovers. I don't expect a lot of big mistakes from Barkley. He's been huge so far for this team. We just need to get Goedert going on offense and get Brown back healthy and defenses will have their hands full.

Defensively, this is mostly just a young, inexperienced group. If the offense can get some big leads and take a little pressure off the defense, we might see the group start to gel, make some big plays and feed off that. I'm still waiting to see a vocal leader emerge on that side of the ball.

Wednesday evening Predictions update

Hopefully everyone's anger and angst has abated some from Monday night's debacle.  The less said about that the better.  With a short week for this Week Three contest with the Saints we have 4 rather pessimistic predictions recorded thus far.  All are for an Eagles loss. The average predicted score is Eagles 16 and Saints 44.

As always, please tag your prediction post with @mattwill that way I will be sure to see/record it.  Score predictions can also have an optional "Bonus Pick" tiebreaker prediction.  I will be taking predictions right up to Kickoff.

The results of Week One can be seen at

Something doesn’t seem right about that spread.

Yeah, that spread it going to attract a lot of money for the Saints. So, expect some strange calls to go in favour of the Eagles. Vegas never loses.

2.5/3?  Should be more like 25/30.

Based on 2 weeks (yes small sample size) the Saints really should handle us. Kamara should be able to run all over us and I’m not sure we have the coverage to stop them either. It’s going to be a struggle and without AJ I don’t see how we can even hope to keep up in terms of scoring.

This was a game I thought the Eagles should win prior to the season, but now I worry that it could be a blowout. The Eagles need to play a game of keep away to have any shot at this one. Saints get a new coordinator and a new quarterback and they’re lighting up the scoreboard. They’re doing what we hoped our team would do.
